I was recently given a 1994 MX5 for free due to the fact

I was recently given a 1994 MX5 for free due to the fact it did not have a title. My first thoughts were to just detail the car and sell it, But after driving it home, I was honestly impressed. I’ve now owned it for one week and in the works of getting the title and have no desire to sell the car. That little 1.8 5 speed manual won me over and this is coming from someone who has built many 70s muscle cars. The car is stock, and I plan on keeping it that way, except for some minor engine mods, changing the ragtop into a hardtop convertible and possibly a different rim & tire package.

I would die for this car.

The Mazda Miata is the best car to be created. I am not exaggerating, but I would honestly die for this car. I bought mine June 17th, 2018. That day is deemed the best day of my life thus far. I bought it off some chump for $1,000. It had 2 beat up fenders and needed new tires, wheels, alignment. It had been sitting for so long, it really needed me in its life to love and nurture it. # months in, the car looked brand new. Its SLAMMED! New wheels, new suspension, new seats, new steering wheel, the works! I am so in love with this car, if i go a day without driving it I die a little bit inside. This car changed my life. I used to be a depressed, sad, little troll. Now i am a flourishing, fabulous happy superstar. All because of this car, I got my life together and got my hair dressing degree! I will be buried with this car. Thank you Mazda, for this vehicle I owe you my life.

It's a Miata!

Everyone should own one. They are so cheap (mine was $3k rust free) and easy to maintain. Even in stock form, just an amazingly fun car to drive on the edge or on a cruise. The best car I've ever owned. A perfect second car to make you happy. Also huge communities with all the support and comrade you could ask for. Do I recommend this car? Yes! All the time, to everyone I know and everyone that asks me about it.

A True Driver's Car

I had owned a '91 Miata in the mid '90s and while it's handling made it a blast to drive, it was a bit underpowered. In '94, they solved this problem with the 1.8 liter engine. I think this is the sweet spot of the Miata experience because shortly thereafter, they replaced the true sport car rack and pinion steering with power steering, began sizing up the outside and oddly, sizing down the inside. I have owned a '66 Triumph TR4 and last model of the MGB and these cars were a blast to drive but stunningly unreliable. The Miata is just like an MGB except it works. The top is the easiest to put up and take down of any ragtop I've owned, including the power top on my BMW 325i. Just driving it to the corner market will put a grin on your face. I've owned 45 cars, including a number of high end imports, many sporty, some pure muscle and this little, unassuming car is hands down the most fun to drive. I lucked into a '94, garage kept, literally by a little old lady, with 50k miles. I hope to continue to enjoy it as long as she did, until they took her kicking and screaming to the nursing home.

Great Car

I owned a Miata for nearly 10 years and absolutely loved it. Aging joints (on ME!) caused us to part ways, but if I could have been agile enough to keep it, I would own it until the end. A bit noisy, but that was easily remedied with some strategically place sound proofing materials. A great memory of a Fiat Spider I owned way back when, only far more dependable and water tight!

performance and value

The MX-5 is a thrill a minute to drive. Handeling is top notch, the Miata makes it's power at the 4000 rpm range and above. Could use a 6th gear as your running 3700 rpm at 75 mph. Smooth shifting easy throws. Top is simple to raise and lower, some wind noise as you would expect. Driving this you are looking up at everybody including Harleys as you pass by. Car is very dependable, fun inexpensive to own and operate. This is our 2nd Miata, enjoy.

Sold MGTD to buy Miata

I heard Miatas were called MGA's with reliability. It's true. They're fun to drive, with quick response, good acceleration, and good looks. They're enjoyable for a trip of moderate length (Mine even has speakers in the headrests to overcome wind noise. I would certainly buy another.

A sportscar to LOVE!

I moved to AZ a year before my husband for a job that required relocation and I brought our black '94 Miata to drive during that period and what a WONDERFUL TIME I had driving Arizona's highways and byways. Corners beautifully, 32 miles to the gallon, and with the hardtop is very elegant looking and with the fabric top down is perfect for our sunny AZ weather.

In the family

Leased 1994 "R version" Miata for son at college graduation. He put 35K miles on it in 3 years. Bought it from dealer off lease for $10K in 1997. It has 96K miles on it today. Still gets over 30 MPG on the road and peppey as ever. Stock except Jackson Racing cold air induction, header and exhaust system. No engine repairs yet. Origional red paint and top. Still fun to enjoy the California sun at age 66!
