Just received my new 2026 GLE450e at my local dealer.
Just received my new 2026 GLE450e at my local dealer. I was told the hybrid would hook up to all Tesla charging stations and charge in less than an hour with an adaptor I purchased from Mercedes. I confirmed this with 2 Mercedes dealerships and the sales managers. When I received the adaptor, it would default at the Tesla charging
stations and at my son’s 2026 Tesla home charging station. Tesla engineers said I was misinformed by both dealers as a hybrid Mercedes has and never will connect to a Tesla charging station or home adaptor. Read the Mercedes website and they state a level 1 for a hybrid will charge in a few hours. Level 1 is 22 hours and level 2 is 4 hours at home and 7-9 hours level 2 at CP. Level 3 unavailable. On trips it is impossible to charge and with my traveling I can’t take 22 hours to charge a car. Carefully interview your Mercedes dealerships about the 450e. They will tell you the new 2026 450e will charge in less than an hour and can be charge at Tesla charging stations. Then google can you charge this car at Tesla charging stations. No sir. Very difficult situation now as I am working with Mercedes for a full refund.
