2016 MINI Hardtop consumer reviews

After 23 years of driving minivans and SUVs, I was ready for a change. I love my 2016 Mini Cooper S 4 door. with the 6 speed manual transmission. Car is great to drive, gets okay mileage (25+mpg) and is surprisingly practical.

I got a wonderful car from Imported Motor Cars in Maine. It’s a beautiful car, incredibly fun to drive, and surprisingly fits tall folks well (my husband is 6’5”). The 2016 model is high in reliability according to CR, and I haven’t found it to be different. It has great gas mileage and is pretty good in snow.

Purchased used in January 2020. Vehicle had low miles for a 2016 and was in nearly new condition. Was a certified pre-owned and have had absolutely no issues.

If you want to play, you've got to pay, as the old saying goes. Very true with this car. It is great fun to drive, but now that it is getting more miles on it, and maintenance issues are cropping up, it's getting expensive to keep on the road.

Fun car, not good for long trips though. Perfect for around town. Just a little to low for older adults, can be difficult to get in and out.

BMW / Mini really got it right with this 3rd generation 2016 Mini Cooper S. None of the headaches or reliability issues of previous years.... This car is incredible to drive. This is as solid a car as any car in the current BMW line up. Draws looks and smiles every where we go. So many features, So quick and responsive, it is incredible, way ahead of its time. The performance is exhilarating. My wife and I used this as a weekend car to drive up to our sailboat to spend the weekend on beautiful Lake Texoma from Frisco about a 60 mile trip each way to spend the weekends. Solid, safe secure, very reliable and dependable. Never had a problem one! We had more fun driving this car than any other we have ever owned and we have had 2 Honda Civics, 4 Honda Accord Sports of various years , 2017 CRV, 3 Porsches, a 2016 944, 2004 & 2013 Boxer S, and a 2017 Jeep Wrangler Limited. This baby tops them all... This car is a smile a mile....

I have owned two Minis to date. The Mini Cooper S is a perfect car that performs at all times. I highly recommend The S version if you like to have a fast car. The Cooper S will surprise you with performance and interior technology. The price of the car is more that you would pay for some vehicles, it is completely worth paying extra for quality and performance and a car that will last a lifetime or more.

Car’s interior is tiny, not much room for your cup, speedometer difficult to see/read, mirrors are small and seeing out the rear window is a challenge. Good thing is that the blind spot is minimal. Car is zippy and you can get in and out of spots with ease. Has plenty of leg room up front (but that causes zero leg room in the back, even with our four door version). No interior storage.

I just love my Mini!!!This is my 3rd Mini Cooper and im sure my next car will be MINI!!! Family of 4 -no problems !! Fast ,good looking and just lovely car ! Fun to drive!! Love it!!

Best car I have ever owned. Very reliable, it has never let me down. Dealers are great and the MINI community is awesome. I highly recommend MINI.
