Great Sporty Little Car
I recently have purchased a 1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS DOHC 16-Valve 2.0L (Non-Turbo) used for around $800. It needed a few hundred dollars of TLC but in the end for the total price and minimal work that it needed it is a fantastic car! Although there have been a few things gone wrong here and there that is to be expected of any car as no car was designed maintenance free, but it is so easy to work on yourself and quick and relatively cheap to fix it is great for motor and sports car enthusiasts. The 1990 year is quite quick even without the turbo and handles even sportier and although a little compact and small on the inside still offers a very comfortable ride and gets great gas mileage. The outside looks very cool and streamlined and while the inside designing is nice it can be a little cramped and I don't recommend trying to fit any sort of a family larger than 2 people inside of it. Fold down seats in the rear and a hatch make it less of an issue with cargo however. With the DOHC model there are a few notorious problems like timing belts failing after about 90,000 miles or so but as long as preventative maintenance is kept with this car it will keep going forever and is very reliable when taken care of. Not for those who just want a car just to drive around in for utility though as it will need to be taken care of by someone with automotive know-how. This car is also front wheel drive and despite being low to the ground can handle harsh winters quite well if properly equipped with the right tires. All in all if you treat it right it will treat you right and makes for an awesome low to mid-level sports car!
