Great Ride

Bought my 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS new in 1996. Have not had any problems with it throughout it's history. Put 301,000+ on the original 3.0L engine, replaced it with rebuilt 3.0L and still running well. Drove 260 miles highway a few weeks ago and got 37.3 MPG. It is FAST - had the original 3.0L up to 158 MPH. Five speed transmission has had no problems (replaced clutch when installed new engine). Replaced top after about 300,000 miles, only problem has been with drivers side door handle (had to replace it twice). Handles very good. Love my Spidey!!!

Drove beautifully.. I tested a 96 Spyder.. manual

This car corners well, shifts well, has a lot of pep, all in all, it was impressive for a car nearly 25 yrs old. Amazing really. I am going to buy it as it drove better than my much newer vehicle! I think I'd be happy cruising with the top down with lots of power coupled with great gas mileage given it's 4 cyl stature. Yup I recommend it and I've driven many sports cars over many many years.

Awesome Car for someone under 6 foot

If you are looking for a cheap head turning performance car then look no further, unless you are over 6 foot. This car really only sits two even though it has back seats there is no leg room, but thats what you usually expect from a performance car. Very easy to work on and mod.

I'll never buy another Mitsubishi!

I bought the turbo-charged version of this car new. It had all the bells and whistles...a 10-CD disc changer, leather seats, electric sunroof, you name it. The body style was incredibly sexy and heads would turn when I drove it. It was fast and fun and I loved it...for a while. Then, at 40,000 miles (just after the warranty expired), the air conditioner compressor went out and I had to pay $1500 to get it fixed. Then, at 70,000 miles, I would press on the gas pedal and it felt like the engine had no power. When I took it into the dealership, they told me that the turbo engine had gone out. To repair it was going to cost $8000!!!! That was more than the car was worth at the time. So I traded it in and got a measly $2000 for it, due to the non-functional turbo engine. I still think the Eclipse is the cutest car, but I'll never buy another one again, or another Mitsibushi anything, for that matter.

Best car ive ever owned!!

I love this car, it cleans up real nice and roars down the freeway. Even at 150,000 miles the car has never broken down!

Best Turbocharged Four Cylinder For The Money!

This Turbocharged Eclipse gets you from A to B and back to A in style, comfort, and with speed! The GSX Eclipse is the best of all the Eclipses because it has All Wheel Drive, leather interior, and enough speed to kill you, but you might not die with the airbags this vehicle is equipped with. You can have your new Eclipse equipped with many available options. This vehicle is very reliable and I know because I have owned two and am looking forward to buying a new Eclipse!

Classic eclipse style, with a turbo!

I love the way this car looks, In my opinion, it lookes better than the new ones! With the turbo engine, and convertible, it is an UNBEATABLE value. So much fun, for a little pricetag, and reliability to go along with it.
