2022 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 review: Our expert's take

What Is the 2022 Mitsubishi Mirage?

One of the most affordable and fuel-efficient non-hybrids on the market, the subcompact Mirage is available as a four-door hatchback and a G4 sedan. It’s powered by a 78-horsepower, 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine that works with a five-speed manual or continuously variable automatic transmission. The subcompact Mirage hatch and sedan compete with cars like the Chevrolet Spark, Hyundai Accent and Kia Rio.

What’s New on the 2022 Mitsubishi Mirage?

A new Black Edition features black 15-inch alloy wheels, a black spoiler and mirror caps, red grille accents, and red and black interior trim. Black Edition and SE models also get automatic headlights and rain-sensing windshield wipers.

What Features in the 2022 Mitsubishi Mirage Are Most Important?

Standard features include:

  • LED taillights
  • 7-inch touchscreen multimedia system
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity
  • Bluetooth connectivity
  • Cruise control
  • Automatic air conditioning
  • Automatic emergency braking

Available features include:

  • LED headlights

Should I Buy the 2022 Mitsubishi Mirage?

The Mirage is inexpensive and has an impressive 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, but it’s also noisy and underpowered. It does have fun handling, however, and its small size makes it easy to park in crowded city centers.
