The car that got me hooked on maximas

I use to own one. It's been so good to me, i didn't ever want to give it up. I gave it to my brother and went bought a 2014 maxima. There's no other car that's that great and affordable.

The worst car I have ever owned

This car has always had engine problems. I've put hundreds of dollars in it and the problems just keep getting worse, I am getting rid of it soon.

Luxurious but difficult to maintain

This car has many features that would catch a buyers eye: Heated seats, moonroof, heated steering wheel as well as leather seating.

Love my 02 Maxima

Bought this car new. I now have 108,000 miles on it and just had to replace struts. I always keep up with oil changes and general service. This car has never let me down, I plan on keeping this car for a long time. The only issue I have is the rear wheel wells are rusting out. I will have them repaired.

Only one thing I like about this car!

I bought this against my better judgement because my wife wanted it. (ALWAYS a mistake. Listen to the inner voice friends) It test drove pretty well but had a high pitched whine as we accelerated to high speeds. Thought it just need tires. Took it to the shop AFTER purchasing it, which is really back a#@ed and should really be avoided. Buying used cars 101...have the mechanic look at it BEFORE purchasing the vehicle. Anyhow, it did need tires but because the shocks were leaking fluid onto the inner tire and was eating into them. Had to replace all the shocks and struts. Now it has developed a knocking sound when we hit a big bump and start and stop. Started out just once in a while and has quickly worked it's way up to all the time. I need to take it to the shop now. T Lets see, the radio just started to malfunction and one side is without sound. The a/c just stopped working ACCEPT at the HIGHEST setting. I live in Florida...ac is a must. The paint is faded and the clear coat is peeling on the passenger back side. The only thing I like about this car is the engine. When the ac is off you can't even hear it running. Standing right next to it! When you fel the need to speed, this thing can deliver. It has get up and go. It's fun to drive if you crank the stereo up (the one side that actually works) as not to hear the bumping and squeeking from under the car. Truth is i think it could be a great car if the other areas matched the quality of the engine. Sadly it does not. Would make a great custom car if you put good quality parts in it and rebuild half the dang car.

2002 max bought used

bought this car in 2009 with 107k thousand miles. now i have 155k miles. had to replace exhaust twice with the flex pipe once. tires twice. brakes and rear calipers twice. had coolant leaks many times. the seals were replaced. then the radiator finaly went at around 149k and that had to be fixed with all the new hoses. power steering leaked and had to get a new hose. turning radius sucks and so is the brake feel. doesnt feel solid when breaking. transmision slips between 2 and 3rd gears when accelarating hard from stop. torque steering is present. burns about 1 quart of oil every 2k miles. i run full synthetic 5w30 mobil 1 and bosch d3323 filter. had to replace the windshield twice. heated seats and steering wheel take long to heat up and then cut off after operating for 10 minutes. car is not that great. sun roof opens by itself for no reason. cd player stoped working.

Really satisfied with the 2002 Nissan Maxima

Being a new driver, the 2002 nissan maxima is the perfect car. The engine drives smoothly and the power on this car is incredible. Purchased with 135K miles on it. Only complaint is the turn radius. I can't do a full turn out of a lot without doing a three-point turn sometimes. Other than that this car is perfect. Worth every penny.

Had longer than any other car

Great performance. Nissan engines are the best...smooth power, most reliable. Handles like a sport sedan, roomy enough for college move-in day.
