2002 Nissan Maxima consumer reviews

This is my 2nd Maxima. I had a 99 Maxima before getting the 2002. The only complaint I have with this car is the turning radius is terrible. My 99 did not have this issue. Overall the car is very nice. I have not been dissatisfied with the reliability or the performance. It is a very nice car. It really moves when you want it to. The gas mileage is average. It is very comfortable for my wife and two teenage daughters. I like the style and the performance of the Maxima. When this one is ready for a trade in, I will most likely consider another Maxima. I have been satisfied with the Nissan product.

I bought in 2/02. Great handling & exceleration. reasonable gas milage for a V-6 255hp. My only repairs beyond scheduled maintenance have been a new battery, & a couple of belts, all under $300.00. I only turned the ingition more than once one time, when the battery died earlier this year. Since the car competes with entry luxury cars ( MB C-class or BMW 300's), I think it should have less road noise for the price. However it is not unbearable given it is still cheaper & is a lot more reliability. The only other draw back on my model, the SE 6 speed manual, is the expense for replacing the performance 18 in tires-- $180/tire was the cheapest I could find. Overall, I love my car & would buy it (or another Nissan/Infinity) again if I didn't need a wagon or small SUV for my bike equipment ( new hobby since purchase).

Handles great. Leather interior. 5 disc CD, tape, am/fm radio. Controls for everything on the steering wheel for easy access. Power seats, heated seats. Great A/C (cold air as soon as you start the car). Reliable. This car has alot of power or easy acceleration. It was driven as a to and from work car. New brakes and oil change. Over all a Great car.
