The car looks cool on the outside, it’s luxurious, it’s good at saving gas, however, the main problem is that the transmission is bad. and it’s too overpriced for what it’s worth.

I Loved my 2014 Nissan Sentra SR

I bought my car in 2014 with 5 miles on it. I changed the oil, had the CVT fluid changed at the intervals recommended by Nissan and I never had any problems with my car. Someone hit me and totaled my vehicle the end of September 2023. My car had 159,999 in the odometer at that time. I was trying to make it last as long as possible. I know what others say about this car but it was a great car and I’ve never had any issues or problems with it. Sad to see it gone.

Waste of money don't buy new or used and the paint

Transmission goes out at 75000 miles with no warning at all just died. Wast of money, all the mechanics are saying the same thing about the transmission. And the pain just peels off

Cvt transmission on this cars are the worst

Don’t loose your money. The car is not gonna last more than 100k miles. It has one of the worst cvt transmission ever built in a car

Not even worth it!

Please don’t waste your time buying this piece of junk! If you doo a little research, you’ll find out that the 2014 Nissan Sentra specifically has been known to have multiple issues time and time again, and parts have been know to be outrageously expensive. I just had to dump over 2 grand into fixing my Sentra because of a bad mass air flow sensor and the alternator completely busted! Caused my car to die and break down, it wouldn't start at all! Alternators don’t typically go bad which is a major red flag for me! The prices for Nissan parts are 10 times more expensive than Mercedes’ parts for example. The only positive thing about this car is that it’s gas friendly and has a nice sport mode feature, but for the price of parts and repairs it was a major headache for me! Please be cautious! In my opinion don’t even consider buying a Nissan Sentra between the years 2013-2017 unless you don’t mind paying a fortune for parts and shop fees! Hope this helps someone out!

Transmission problems

I used to own a 2014 sentra. I bought the car used with only 25k miles. I passed the car to my sister in law because she was in desperate need of a car. 2 days after she had it transmission went out. Keep in mind the car only has 55k miles on it. Luckily it still has extended warranty. The dealer fixed the issue. Been running good so far but only time will tell. I love nissan. I have an 04 armada with 170k and it runs like a champ. I would never buy another nissan with a cvt transmission. They are crap.

Mixed Feelings

I purchased my 2014 Nissan Sentra SV used with 103k miles on it. I didn’t realize at the time that these transmissions are horrible in terms of reliability... Fortunately, my car is still lasting; however, now, at 141k miles, the car heavily shakes and shudders while my RPMs go crazy whenever I go up an incline.. Thankfully I paid it off already.. I suppose that, in the 3 years I’ve owned it, reliability has been okay. I had a wheel bearing go out a few months ago - which is weird for a far this new.. ? My exhaust manifold also had to be welded back together at one point because it cracked .. I think that if you’re going to buy a used one, make sure it has low miles... They seem to fall apart upwards of 150k. Other than that, it’s okay. Nothing too special; it’s slow but efficient. The engine noises are ungodly and annoying.. like it’s straining to go up inclines or get up to speed.. I deliver pizzas on this car and it’s been okay.. I am not impressed with Nissan, though.. just mediocre.

Nissan CVTs are GARBAGE! Don’t buy one!!

Bought in 2015 @ 39k miles. CVT went out at 87k. Now I’m at 133k and it’s going out AGAIN. It was $4k a pop to replace the CVT with a USED unit. Do NOT buy any Nissan CVT they are junk. My nice car is now a yard ornament that nobody wants.
