  • Clean looking, but unreliable Convertible

An awesome looking vehicle with the top drop--this car's wide roll bar that arches over the middle is a clean touch (maybe only the Saleen has better appeal imo). Front & back leather bucket seats are comfortable and sporty with plenty of room for the rear pax. The car is incredibly FAST out the gate with its 3.4 Supercharged DOHC. The problem is, the car required the most hideous possible vehicle repairs. Such as, a brake booster (shouldn't have to ever repair from my research), the rear main O-ring (outrageous in cost), alternators (replaced 2 during my 4 year stint of ownership)....but the worst of all, was the rear brake calipers. It had a recall due to the slide pins failing or what not--all i know is I was replacing a caliper once a year--and consequently, the pads as well since the failing caliper was causing its pads to work more (only one side would go bad at a time....then the other months later, so pads changed at same time).....and let's not forget the rotors as well (same as pads but not changed out as frequent). Still an extremely fun car to drive with the top rolled back.

  • My First Car!

This was my first car back in 2005, and sentimentality aside, I really miss it. Roomy without being a total boat, tough and gritty for New England winters (never even wobbled once in the snow and ice), and the most hideous shade of teal ever seen. My Tealmobile was wonderful all around, and even as dated as it was, I didn't have to touch a thing other than oil the first year. A few minor repairs got me through high school and college, and went from 73k at purchase well past 130k until it showed some worrying signs, but still ran when I traded it for something newer. I will always miss this great car!
