2007 Pontiac Solstice consumer reviews

My 2007 Pontiac Solstice GXP currently is a reliable little sports car with lots of kick in terms of performance, especially considering it’s amazing turbo charger. 260 hp isn’t to bad either. Styling is ever eye catching with its 18 inch tires. It sits low outwardly as well as inwardly as a sports car should. Maintaining its regular maintenance and fluids will provide consistent quality performance. It's fast when you need it to be. The ride is comfortable, and steering is excellent for where you pint it, it will go there with no push back or fuss. Gas relies on premium which is acceptable for quality performance, but there is the base model which takes regular gas if your wallet seeks relief. Its colors are limited, but I suggest a car wrap for uniqueness individuality. Overall, the Solstice is a fun responsive sports car that you can find within your budget and after purchasing it, you can get reasonable affordable auto insurance coverage, especially if your are a Boomer with no tickets or accidents. These cars are approaching rare for you don’t see many on the roads and highways these days. Drop the top on a relatively good weather day and all eyes will be on you!!! MVB

I bought 07 in 2013 for $9K. I’m 6’2” and don’t have any problems getting and out except with a hat on and cowboy boots. It’s an automatic transmission. I had racing stripes painted on it because they all look the same. I’ve often thought I’d wished I’d bought the GXP with the std shift with turbo but I think my left leg would hit the steering wheel shifting. Mine has 110K miles on it. I’ve enjoyed every minute of it, it sticks to the road at any speed and holds curves so well that no other car can. The cons are they the interior is all hard plastics, so for a long trip you’ll feel every crevice and wish for a softer interior. The cup holder for the driver on the transmission mound when alone is crap and will jam and not close, don’t use it, it will fail. Mechanically the automatic transmission has a sealed transmission and should have had a recall, because within 50K miles it shifts real hard on the downshift. Have a trusted mechanic check the transmission fluid level, even though there isn’t a stick the mechanic can add fluid. I spent over a grand paying for an ECM replaced that controls the transmission and later found out it was only low fluid. You’ll get all kinds of advice and most will be wrong. I’m having a new top put in it, the only thing that shows it’s wear. Overall, it’s been a very dependable car, like all cars needs regular maintenance but so so much fun to drive.

I just purchased my second red 2007 5 speed GXP in February with only 14,000 miles on it because I loved the 1st one I owned from 2016 to 2018, but had to sell due to my wife's health problems. I'm 79 years old and this is my 11th convertible and the fastest car I have ever owned. 0-60 in 4.2 seconds. I love this car because it makes me feel like a teenager again whenever I get behind the wheel and go cruising. I took her to two any year car shows this summer and won trophies at both of them. I have more fun driving this car than my red 1972 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible and will keep it in it's perfect condition to pass onto my children when I turn 95. Values are starting to creep higher on these Solstices so try and pick one up in the winter months when demand is not as high as in the spring and summer. I have never seen as many positive reviews on any car on this site as I have on the Pontiac Solstice. As of 2007 the GXP turbo charged version of the Solstice put out more horsepower per cubic inch of displacement than any other car GM had ever sold to the general public up until that time.

Just got my 07…drove it from west palm home to Amelia island….250 miles ran great…handled almost like my 50th Corvette,,,looking forward to a fun car driving to the beach here and town…..

This car is sporty and fun to drive! We have had many compliments on our car. I love driving it and my husband has had a lot of fun adding custom touches to it!

It is a work car for getting me to work an back home. I need a small vehicle that will fit in my garage next to my other car. Trunk space is very very limited a large backpack barely fit in the corner of the trunk with a droptop it gives you no room. Good for running errands in as long as you’re not picking up large items

I’ve owned at least 100 cars, and this one is the most fun for the money I’ve ever spent. It’s fun to drive, people stop me to talk about it in parking lots, and it’s as reliable a car I e ever owned.

I have a 2007, little red Solstice and she is the best! I only drive her on certain spring and summer days to keep the miles down and she currently has 46,000 which isn't bad for 13 years. I along the North Carolina coast so I keep her in the garage so the sun and sea air won't damage the paint. I bought this car because it looks good, handles very well and it's fun to drive. I don't take her on trips that require luggage because of the extremely limited trunk space but I have a pick-up and a cadillac drive them when I need space. The only con for me is the placement cup holders.

I love my car. Owned a red one since 08 sold it and now thanks to Hall Hyundai I'm back in a silver one. Love the prefromance.

Car meets my needs and expectations! I'm surprised at how much leg room I have! Am very happy with my purchase! Can't wait for spring/summer to drive it!!
