Would recommend in a heartbeat!
I cannot say enough good things about my Saturn. A friend recommended Saturn when I was looking for a vehicle back in 2012. She had a Saturn that got 311,000 before she retired it. I bought my 2002 Saturn SL1 with 19,000 miles in great condition. Very reliable, comfortable to drive on long trips and inexpensive to repair. I only had minor issues. We lost the Saturn in February 2019 when a woman blew a stop sign and we plowed into her at 40mph head first into the side of her vehicle. The airbags went off on both sides and all damage was contained to the front. I was able to open my door and walk away with my daughter. No injuries past just bruises and muscle soreness. This was my first accident ever and I can say without hesitation that my Saturn performed like a champ. I would not hesitate in recommending the Saturn or buying another one with low miles. They are a great car!

My fourth Saturn
Tires and O2 sensor are all I have put into it in year and a half. I bought the last year model that they made these cars this time. I buy them with low mileage 22000 miles for a 16 year old car this time, I now have only 41000. Looks newer that other cars this old and paint finish still shines.

Great cars
This is our 2nd Saturn S model and both have been amazing cars. They get great gas mileage even in the city. It's a great commuter car. Not as comfy for long distances but we're older adults now :). The exterior looks brand new. Of course ours have been garage kept but they sit out during the work day in all conditions. They handle well in the snow. Just so sad they have stopped making them. Brilliant little car.

Love This Car!
A pleasure to drive! Easily fits an child car seat in the rear. Up to 5 adults able to travel comfortably at once. Averages 29.93 mpg and 288 miles/fill. We would be keeping this car ourselves but were given another car as a gift and don't have a need for an extra car.

One of the greats in my book!
I owned this gem for about 2 years and was great to me until it hit 180k miles. I bought this bad baby at 120k miles for $1700 and it was well maintained. I evened name this car, Squirtle, and it was my daily driver. Squirtle would average about 36 mpg since I was 95% on the highway. During those 2 great years, all Squirtle needed were tires and oil changes. The A/C was icy cold, drivers seat was comfy, had power windows and locks, decent radio with good reception,it had all the basic necessities I needed. Unfortunately, Squirtle started making crazy sounds on the freeway and needed it's front axle to be changed. Also, had fluid leaks. So had to get rid of Squirtle because I was quoted about $1200 on repairs. I didn't think it was worth it so I had to sell Squirtle. Passed smog and still drove just didn't know when it would finally breakdown. I would definitely get another one if I need another SL if my current car (Kia Forte) craps out on me.

2002 Saturn sl1 ----best commuter car award---
Purchased my 2002 SL1 with 134,000 miles for $1,050. This car had a leaking intake manifold gasket and after watching a youtube DIY repair it was fixed in 2 hours with the new gasket costing only $13. After 6 months the car now has 144,000 miles commuting roughly 50miles a day. Driving this car my weekly commute cost roughly only $20 in gas (29 mpg city/39 mpg highway)! Running cost are minimal as tires, oil, and brakes are inexpensive to replace on this almost 20 year old vehicle. Great sound system for being a budget car, the SL1 will easily keep up in traffic with a 5 speed manual( I go 80-100 mph daily) in the fast lane, and this car has yet to leave me stranded. Of coarse I own a pleasure car for weekends and when with the family...but this Saturn has such a low cost of ownership for my daily commute, It's perfect!

Great first car
Very reliable engine that could take abuse. Cheap and fuel efficient makes it a good first car, just keep up on maintenance. Pretty small and low to the ground. Notorious for brake line failure and can be very unsafe if it hits a bigger vehicle (eg. Escalade or semi truck).
