First Car

This is my first car and I have been driving it for 5 years now. Bought it at 50,000 miles for $5400. It now has 90,000 miles. This car has amazing gas mileage (getting 38 mpg highway) and has been very reliable (starts in -20 degree weather). However, it will overheat when idle for more than 5 minutes and is absolutely AWFUL in ice and snow. Other than that, great car!

Good Car

I bought a 2000 sl2 when it was 3 years old.I paid $6500 had just over 30,000 mi on it.I've not had any major problems.Although it is sluggish it was a good deal.Still looks good and it's almost 10 yrs old.Sits lower to the ground than I would like but it gets me from point A to point B.

Reliable and Great MPG

I have owned my Saturn SL1 for 2 years and I have been quite satisfied with it. I have had only routine maintenance done on the car, including brakes and new tires. I'm getting about 39MPG on the highway (auto transmission). Seats are not very comfy for long drives but they are better than my Wife' Ford Explorer. I am happy with this car and I am dissapointed that GM is dropping the Saturn line. This is my second Saturn and I was thrilled with my first.

I love my Saturn

I bought this car with 17,000 miles on it and I was ticked because the dealer wouldn't dicker on the price with me. But I bought it anyway because my husband said it was a good deal. BOY WAS HE RIGHT! I now have 126,000 miles on it and have only had to do routine maintainance. This car hasn't cost us anything in repairs. Plenty of head room for my tall husband. He has even driven it twice on trips of over 1300 miles and found it comfortable all the way. Not to mention the 40 to 44 mpg we got on those trips! When I take our garbage and recyclables to the landfill, people are amazed at all my little car will hold. One guy with a minivan just looked at me amazed and said, "I'm getting rid of this thing and getting a Saturn!" I could brag on this car all day. If it has one detriment it's that it is a bit sluggish going up hills.

Worth buying a GM for

I bought this car 2 years ago with 17,000 miles on it in excellent condition. For 2 years I have yet to have any problems with the car. Runs great, handles excellent especially in snow, and even with the red color it actually has a sports car look to it. The standard sound system is actually pretty good for factory speakers. Easy to maintain.

Great deal, great car

I bought the 2002 Saturn SL1 in mid 2006. This is the second Saturn we've owned and we've never had any problems with them. Our mechanic said this car will run forever as long as we take of it. It's a great car for the money. The turning radius is a little wide, but that's the only complaint we've had so far. Not bad for a 7 year old car . . .

The best first car

this car is great. it gets great gas mileage. the only downfall is that it is small and their is not much leg room but for a person who is almost 6'3" not much is big. Although it is small it is safe and very reliable. It has never let me down and I would recomend this car to anyone.
