Satisfied Subby Owner

Third Subaru we have owned and this 2010 is better than ever. First long trip (500 miles in one day) over mountain passes was made with ease and comfort even for the rear seat passenger. At about 75 MPH averaged about 27 MPG which I considered reasonable at that speed. Power and heated seats, auto rearview mirror, 6 spd CV Transmission, and on and on for $26,000. Our 2002 Forrester, which was still running like a top, went to our daughter. Trans and motor built in Japan but unit assembled in US (would have bought a total US made care if I would have found one comparable at the price.) --No complaints.

I Love my Subaru

No other car maker has one like this! I wanted to support Ford because they took NO government hand-outs, unlike Chevy and Chrysler. I like Honda's, too. No one had/has a vehicle like the outback - which meets most all of my current needs!

First Subaru

I bought this vehicle three months ago and have put only 1300 miles on it so I am going on other owners testaments as to the reliability. I wanted an AWD vehicle and had heard good reviews from people that owned Subarus. The comfort in the drivers seat is pretty good and back seat passengers are really happy, including my 230 pound brother in law. I like the hatchback area storage space and need it on vacation trips. For a 2.5 liter engine the performance is pretty good. I'm definately not worried about pulling into traffic on the interstate. Handling is very good for this style vehicle compared to others I have driven. I have not had a chance to test the AWD much other than in rain. In the mountain town I will be moving there are alot of Subarus on the road so I am expecting good things. I prefer this new exterior and interior design over the earlier models that I have seen. This car also has an air conditioner filter, brilliant. I have often wondered why cars did not have them. If I have any disapointment it would be with the lack of two gauges, specifically, temperature and oil pressure indicators. A temperature gauge should be installed where that useless mpg gauge is. The computer mpg readout that is also installed is much better. An oil pressure gauge could be slipped inbetween the tach and speedometer. It is suprising not to see these two gauges on an AWD vehicle. Also I would like to see a dipstick to check transmission fluid levels. The CVT models do not have one. I have never seen a vehicle that didn't have one prior to this one. Overall though I am very happy with the vehicle and value.

Very satisfied, lots of fun!

I recently traded in a full sized SUV V-8 for my new 2010 Outback 4 cyl. It was tough to give up my V-8 SUV. I'm very pleased with my decision and very happy with the acceleration and gas mileage. I'm already getting over 22mph in the city and I only have 250 miles on it! I havn't even used up the first tank of gas!

Overall Great car except gas mileage

Have had the Outback for about 3 months now and have put about 7500 miles on it. It has been a very roomy and comfortable vehicle to drive. Has a somewhat luxury car feel to it. My only complaints so far have been the mileage and the audio. The sound system is very average on the Limited model. CD's sound better than radio though. Also, have been disappointed with the gas mileage. I get about 24-26 mpg on the highway compared to the advertised 29 mpg. I usually drive about 70-73 mph on the highway. The dealer says others have mentioned the same.

Great car -- even better when you consider the pri

This is a wonderful car for hauling people and lots of gear. I have the CVT and so the fuel efficiency is remarkable. Pick up is not great, but it's steady and I spend a lot of tim in hte Smokies and have no trouble. The interior is functional, not fancy. Relaiblity so far is very good. Handling is much better than expected. Small things like the electronic parking breal are odd at first, but become intuitive quickly. I'm very happy with my purchase -- and I spent at least $15,000 less than I would have on any truly comparable vehicle.

The 'Go Anywhere, Do Everything Vehicle'

This is our 5th Subaru and 3rd Outback model. We've owned a '90 wagon, '99 SUS, '97 Outback, 2007 Outback XT Turbo and now this 2010. The 2010 is bigger than previous models (primary reason we traded), but the it still maintains all the fabulous traits we've come to expect from Subaru. Our 2010 model is the 4 cyl with CVT and currently owned it about 3 months. Have driven it over 3400 miles so far. Love the roomyness, utility, mileage (avg 27 - 30), handling, quality and other features. Especially like the creature comforts, namely the sound system, heated seats, puddel lights and bluetooth cell features. It has great ground clearance for our Colorado snows and the AWD, like all previous models, is absolutely AWESOME! No other vehicles made can surpass Subaru's AWD system, period! I understand a small percentage of Outbacks were delivered with a starting problem (ours included), but Subaru engineers quickly solved it with a computer software fix. Once Subaru was made aware of the problem, their engineers developed a timely fix. Ours now starts fine and works great! I highly recommend the company Subaru and it's Outback model to anyone. We wouldn't own anything else!

Our 2010 Outback

In the two months we have had our Outback, we are averaging 27 mpg under all driving conditions (snow/rain/dry/mud) and have had no problems whatsoever. The all-wheel drive is dependable and more economical than we had though it would be. The ride and handling are excellent.

Worth a Look

We were looking for better gas mileage than our Expedition but wanted to stay in an SUV. The last car we drove was the 2010 Outback and bought it. Gas mileage is outstanding, seems well made and solid. It's suprisingly roomy inside and the 4cyl has plenty of power.

You'll Love It Too

From the moment I test drove it, I knew it was the car for me. I was impressed with its handling, responsiveness, and comfort. I especially liked the ease of the drop down back seats, the privacy cover for the "trunk", and the capacity of the trunk. I've only had it for 2 months now, but we have 3500 miles on it, and they have all been good ones. We seem to be averaging just under 29 mpg city and highway. We also have already had a need for a "minor" body shop repair, and when I spoke with the man who handled the work, he commented that it was the most comfortable car he had ever driven (and, with his job, he drives a lot of different cars!). My partner and I have differing climate control needs, so the dual control setup was the deciding factor. We both love the car for its looks, its performance, its sound system, and its comfort. Give it a try and you will too!
