The best SUV out there

by Doz from MD on Wed Jan 09 2019

I have owned a Land Rover. I have driven most car brands. Tesla vehicles definitely exceed the hype. This SUV feels bigger on the inside, drives and accelerates like it's not big at all. The autopilot feature learns and gets better with time. The regular over-the-air updates from Tesla essentially improve your vehicle every few months. Only downside: If you are very introverted and do not like attention from passersby who always get thrilled once the Model X Falcon wing doors open up, then consider a less exciting vehicle.

Best Vehicle I have ever owned

by Deeps from Buffalo, NY on Wed Mar 06 2019

I used to be an Audi lover with 2 sitting in my garage. Once I bought my Tesla, driving my Audi's seems like such a chore. I never thought I would feel that way. It's got tons of storage, very fast, extremely agile and handles snow like a champ. The falcon wing doors make it easy to get into and buckle kids in middle row.

Have a Charger at HOME!

by Speedy from Miami, FL on Mon Jul 22 2019

I have my Model X for a year and half now, I love driving it, I've had all the nice brands for the SUVs, BMW, MB, Porsche, LandRover... and the Model X is different from all, very fast and the autopilot is something else. The only downside is that if you drive a lot like I do, it's kinda of a pain in the xxx to charge it every 2 days... I use the superchargers from Tesla, once I have the Unlimited Free charge forever... And my building doesn't have chargers, neither I want to pay to charge it!

Electric vehicle

by Vettepbm from Rochester, NY on Thu Mar 07 2019

Awesome electric vehicle, very fast, all kinds of options, great looks. Very cool falcon wing doors. Love not having to go to gas station and waiting in line. When they make new vehicles with lower price tags and more people can buy their going to love it.

don't buy a tesla

by don't buy a tesla from boston, MA on Sun May 05 2019

Horrendous experience all around. Our original car was damaged in transit. They gave us a different one as a substitute. This car is a lemon. In the process of spending 20+ days in the shop over the first 4 months of ownership, we have come to realize that the company is extremely poorly run. No one is in charge and no one is accountable for anything. This is a ship without a rudder. You might get lucky and get a good car, but if you don't, you are screwed like us. Go somewhere else.

Our Take on the 2018 Tesla Model X

The verdict:

A polished, accomplished electric car meets an eccentric luxury SUV.

Versus the competition:

The Model X does things other SUVs and electric cars don’t, but that’s not always good.

Tesla's electric cars and SUV may seem otherworldly and mysterious to those not ingrained in the Tesla-verse, especially the Model X SUV, with its "Star Trek"-like shuttle pod doors and 17-inch command center touchscreen. But while there is some showboating and gimmickry to the Model X,  it's for the most part perfectly happy doing SUV things, just like other $100,000 luxury family vehicles.

The Tesla X P100D with Ludicrous mode is the version that gets all the attention — justifiably, from its advertised zero-to-60-mph time of 2.9 seconds, which is supercar quick — but I tested the midrange 100D model. Our 100D had the longest EPA-estimated range of any Model X... Read More
