  • 2020 GTI Base Model Great Car

The driving is immaculate and very fun. I’m not a big car buff but this car made driving very enjoyable. The dashboard features were great and intuitive. The only weak part was the poor sound quality of the speakers.

  • Got to Love Those German Cars

First off it's a new 2019 not a 2014 which is as new as Cars.com site goes to ??? I've been a Porsche owner for last 25 years. For one reason or another my Spyder and Macan are both gone. Had a GMC Denali for 3 months and a Honda CR-V for 3 weeks replacing the Macan. On the drive home from the dealer I said to myself - Wow I didn't realize how much I missed a German car. Light, responsive, handles, quick - a Sportscar plus flip the rear seats down and it's a Home Depot buddy. I know cars - 9 new cars in last 14 months. I usually know more about the car than the person trying to sell it to me. If you want something sporty and useful VW GTI is one to check out.

  • Best performance vehicle

I think the vehicle is very slick and nice on the outside but on the inside I am not so impressed, just a basic design and not too much going on , performance wise it’s one the best cars I have ever driven.

  • A fun car to drive

The car drives like new and handles like a sport car. Very power full for a small car. This is my third Volkswagen in my house.

  • Absolutely great - as usual

The GTI offers an excellent blend of driving enjoyment and practicality wrapped in a package that feels more expensive than it actually is. The 2.0 liter engine is rated at 210 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy is EPA-rated at 25/33 mpg with the dual-clutch 6-speed automatic transmission. The GTI received a five-star overall crash safety score from NHTSA (out of a possible five stars). In IIHS testing, the GTI received the Top Safety Pick+ award. I could continue to say what a great car but the experts agree: 1. Car and Driver magazine calls the GTI "Simply the Best". 2. Consumer Reports rates the 2017 GTI as the most reliable version from 2015 to 2019. 3. Car and Driver awarded it with a 10 Best trophy for the 15th consecutive year in 2020. 4. Motor Trend gave it a win against a Honda Civic Si, Mini Cooper S and Subaru Impreza WRX. 5. Consumer Reports gives it a driving experience rating of 98 out of 100 points. 6. Road & Track says "Better than the competition. This new GTI is not to be trifled with."

  • Fast, Economical Great Handling, Hatchback

Mine was a 2015 not a 2014 the review form did not allow that new of a year. There is nothing about this car that was not well thought out, and well implemented. Fuel economy is remarkable, performance is superb and I can say i is a joy to own and drive. I am very pleased with this car.

  • Cutest car I've owned.

This car meets all of my needs. It drives well, it's sporty, and it's really fun to see speeding down the road. It has a very small trunk though, so it's not good for moving.

  • Very Affordable Hot GTI 35 VW

This car is very well priced. A hot looking GTI 35th special edition. It is a 2019, not 2014. Option year was not showing. It is Red with a black front grill and red stripe insert. Has GTI 35 badging on both sides. A black roof with special black rims and a thin red stripe and VW on the rims. I added tinted windows to complete the black and red look. The GTI has 5 engine mode settings to choose from. An alarm system and cruise control. It also compes with sport mode and flappy panel gear shifters on the steering wheel. It also has Blue Think availablity to help with economy driving. Bad A Looking Car

  • Best car out there overall. It Does everything

Supper fun with the standard 6 speeed manual shifter Nothing beats a solid built German Car. Plus it has a 6 year 72,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty..can’t beat that with a stick. Grandpa Bill It is a 2019 model. Not 2014

  • Best all-in-one package

I have to admit, at 1st I felt a little ... teenage-ish, when getting this hot-hatch ... at 40. But, after 35k miles, it is the best all-in-one car i've owned. 1) fun .... 300hp & 280ish torque is just a perfect power for a FWD car and stick xxxx 2) perfectly balanced. the steering, does not feel FWD. you can't quite drift this thing w/out using a hand break, but ... best FWD handling car 3) real Sport, Utility, Vehicle. Whenever you want to take it to the track, move furniture, or drive it to work with the kids. It does it all 4) German engineering. This is gen 7 ... perfected: ergonomics, carPlay, safety
