Great car we had the wagon and it lasted 450k miles very durable they dont make them like they used to. a true Swedish tank

When our children were juniors in undergrad school they became eligible to have a car on campus. We wanted a safe & reliable car that was time tested. My grandparents bought 240's or the equivalent over the years and traded every 10yrs. Our son liked the history behind the 240 & knew his great-grandparents always had one. He didn't care for the exterior but grew to like it. We knew he was in a safe reliable car that was built like a tank, his words. When his sister was eligible to have a car on campus we bought another 240GL. Today I still have our daughters' 93 240 and drive it as my winter vehicle. It has 230Kmi but has always been serviced to manual specs and burns no oil. I take it to the Volvo dealer for all services and it owes us nothing. Bought a new battery in November the largest expense in the last 3yrs next to 4 new snow tires October' 19. Am looking for another 1 owner 240 when this 1 quits. Longest lasting Volvo ever bought.

Volvo's iconic 240 / 245 wagon! Timeless design, bullet-proof slant 4 engine. Safe as a tank. Mine are actually a 1982. 1983 and 1984! I own 3 currently!

Cheap to run and maintain, comfortable, safe, most durable car ever (close to a million kilometres on my wagon), the Swedish 240 brick has become such a classic. I'd rather drive a 240 wagon or sedan than any new modern car.

I wish the 240 was still in production. One of the best cars of the late 20th century. Great as a sedan or a wagon!
