2019 Volvo XC40 consumer reviews

I took temporary possession of the car at the factory and drovee up the coast to Norway and then turned the car over for home shipment. six weeks later it was in my driveway. i replaced a perfectly good 2011 Volvo v50 to buy this XC40. I'm old and I wanted the safety features of the new car. Such features as the accident avoidance, the lane tracking, pilot assist cruise control all work as promised and. the car is by design small on the outside but very spacious on the inside. grandson loves the double size sunroof. i also recommend the overseas delivery. great experience and i saved some money as well as getting to see the Volvo museum and lunch in the tourist delivery center.

I drive an XC60 and bought my wife the XC40 because of all the safety features available, I ordered the car so that I would get exactly what I wanted (everything but a sun roof). Both SUVs are R-Design and are equally fun to drive.

The XC40 is comfortable to drive and extremely safe with a touch of luxury. I love the styling with the contrast roof and tuxedo interior. I also like that it was fully customizable and the infotainment system was easy to learn. I highly recommend this car for someone who wants the interior spaciousness of an SUV with a compact footprint for city driving and parking.

I think this is a great vehicle. The exterior styling is fresh and aggressive looking which is unexpected from Volvo. The interior is spacious with luxury feel. I got the T5 AWD with 19" tires and all options but ADVANCE package. The 100% digital gauge display is awesome, very crisp. The tablet type touchscreen center display is great and software design is good IMO. Other infotainment systems like Mercedes and AUDI require you to drill down various levels of menus to get when you want to view and/or edit. I love how Volvo made it's software simple, intuitive, but a joy to view. Voice system is better then most (I'm still learning it). And best of all Volvo's software let's you not only receive your text messages but reply with voice as well. Not many manufacturer's do that. This for me totally eliminates the need for Android Auto. Just good overall quality of materials IMO. I also never knew how fun this vehicle was going to be to drive. In DYNAMIC drive mode this vehicle takes off, and that's to say it will put you in the back of your seat on 0-60 mph.

This is an incredible vehicle. I always feel safe in a Volvo. I have owned a Volvo since 2001, I plan to always have one. The technology I outstanding and the best.

This car is so comfortable and beautiful too! I got the Amazon blue with white roof and blonde interior. Simply a beauty! Rides smooth and has so much power! Would definitely recommend the xc40 to anyone wanting compact (although so roomy) luxury suv

I saw this car in a Belgium airport on display back in February and said to myself... I need to test drive this when I get home! It’s July and I signed the papers two weeks ago... and have never looked back! This car is perfect and luxurious... and looks so sporty!

The car is quiet, has a very smooth ride, is very comfortable, has great visibility and is loaded with awesome safety features. The Polestar option adds a little more horsepower and adds a real sporty feel to driving the car. My first Volvo and so far I am impressed.

Good city car, not comfortable for longer drives, have had some mechanical issues which don't expect in a car that cost this much. Seats not comfortable for the longer drives, blind spot monitoring sometimes doesn't work, and liftgate handle came off in my hand

I love almost everything about the new XC40. I wanted something smaller than the the XC60, so I was thrilled that they added the new XC40 to their line-up. My only dislike is how noticeable it is when it turns the engine on and off at stops. I have ridden in many other vehicles that do this much more smoothly. Other than that one little issue...it is perfect!
