Used Ford Explorer for sale near Elkhorn, WI

I've purchased serveral cars in my life, and my experience with Miller Motors, and Jacob Weidert was as good as can be. I would use again.

I purchased a 2025 Ford Explorer Platinum with the 3.0 liter 6 cyclinder. The car has lots of power and drives well. It has lots of acceleration and easily pulls a 5000 lb trailer. Things I like about the car: 1. Heated and cooled front massage seats. On a long drive the massage seats are fabulous! 2. Very good radio/sound system 3. Wireless Apple/Android connectivity 4. Lots of cargo space What I dislike: 1. Gas mileage between 19-22 mpg 2. Lane departure system annoying 3. Had a rattle noise in the front of the car at 9000 miles that the dealer could not find. At 11,000 miles, the rattle mysteriously went away. No idea what is going on here. 4. Sometimes when I open the rear hatch, the chime sounds loudly, The next time it does not sound at all. Wish I could just turn it off. ??

It was a great car buying experience. We enjoyed it so much we recommended ot to our son. He leased a truck the next day.

Apple play used to connect but no longer does. Didn’t notice passenger door wasn’t installed properly until I took a road trip and the noise!!! Drivers side arm rest squeaks as though it’s about to come apart. Very noisy engine over 40 mph.

Wife's car ,working at home not many miles low 20k as of2024 June. Still I wonder about trans fluid because of time. Problem that bugs me is the radio. Static in AM off and on ,and of course the business station 1220am about the market. UGH!! Third lease of explorer, so low in miles ,made it a purchase. 🤞👍

This was my first experience at a dealership, but I did extensive research beforehand, and had an idea of what to expect. My sales consultant, Lukas Hale, was down-to-earth and personable - and I sincerely enjoyed working with him. In terms of finance, they did honor my OTD price, but sales were a bit high pressure and I would like more time to review the fine print before signing.

Best car I’ve ever owned. Does everything I want//need it to do. Always starts in the morning. I’ve been camping with it and slept inside the car. Plenty of room

Have only had vehicle for 3 weeks but really like it. I’ve had F150’s for the past 12 years and thought I’d miss my truck, but I’m really enjoying this explorer. It’s more comfortable and fun to drive and the gas mileage is better.

Great place to keep going back too for all my service needs even for my oil change always prompt and keep me up to date , the big for me is they don?t try too sell you extra stuff and they let you know when something needs to be done in more than a timely manner , keep it up RDM

I am happy with everything about my explorer. Get good gas mileage and is very comfortable ride. Traded my 2020 for this 2022. Love the color and have gotten lots of compliments.

Although pricey, this truck is awesome to drive . Very sharp looking and runs fast! I highly recommend ! We went from a Flex to this car and it was a seamless transition.

Quiet, comfortable and powerful car. I have the twin turbo that puts out 400 hp. General gas mileage is 19-20 city and 24-25 highway. The only thing that I would change on this vehicle is that I would like to be able to turn off some of the automatic operations on a semi-permanent basis.

This is the first explorer that I have owned in nearly 30 years. I am coming from a ram 1500. I am surprised how comfortable this explorer is I’m really enjoying the gas mileage between 21 to 23 in town. I have not taken a trip on the highway yet.

Janel and Dave very helpful. I wanted a jeep. I saw one online so wanted to check it out it was missing a few things I really wanted. Janel went Dave and talking Dave said there was one that just came in the night before. I took it on a test drive yes that was the one. Went back in Dave was doing magic with numbers found the one so I bought my jeep. Only have great things to say. I would definitely tell my friends to come her. Driving experience is great. Either engine is plenty of power but even the base 2.3l is very fast. Rear wheel drive bias is noticeable in driving dynamics making it fun to drive. The new Google based infotainment system one of the best in the industry in my opinion.. Almost don't even need a phone with how smart it is. Blue cruise is very convenient for long monotonous highway drives if equipped

I had the best experience buying my new Trax. Craig Winger was absolutely amazing. He is very personable He was great about what I wanted and did not try to persuade me in any way. This Explorer replaces a 2017 I loved. That car is still in the family. The Platinum Edition is fabulous, lots of bells and whistles. I choose to turn off the lane management system. It is somewhat aggravating. The automatic on off at stoplights can be irritating when you have a lot of stoplights. I will turn this feature off when I’m in traffic at a lot of lights. Otherwise, I keep it on. There is a great deal of new technology on the vehicle which is located on the center screen. It was not hard to learn, and although I’ve had this vehicle for a month I’m still learning a few things. This vehicle is a six seater with heated and ventilated seats. The back windows have screens, which is great when your transporting little children and anyone else the seats also have an automatic fold. This car will move quickly great pick up and even with a new car around town, I’m getting 20 1/half miles per gallon on regular gas. Although being a six seater, it is not too big. I had looked at a jeep which ran a good $13,000 more for the same features. The new body style on the Jeep was not appealing to a family member so we stuck with the Ford.

So far above and beyond what I could have expected or even hoped! Before I was able to drive my new purchase home, Legacy Auto wanted to, as is their practice, go through every inch of the car replacing everything that seemed in need of being replaced, regardless of whether an actual safety issue or not as might come out of a cursory safety inspection. I wasn't surprised yet I was a little disappointed that it would take a while for their shop to get my car in for the inspection and corrections, primarily because my insurance company could not cover my rental car for as long as it would take but, Legacy Auto provided a loaner so I at least had a car to drive away with and use until mine was ready. That though turned out the be the least of the professionalism in the service they provided as the cost out of their pocket that they put in for parts alone for issues they dealt with, far beyond any safety concerns, was 10% of the agreed-to price in the first place! They put in 10% of the price of the car AFTER I had already paid for it. In any other dealership I have experience with the best I could have expected is a legally required safety inspection and a detailing of the body and interior. I had to drive about 45 minutes to reach Legacy Auto but the time and effort was more than worth it!

10 years since we bought this vehicle used. It has been awesome, over 110K on the clock; minor problems only. Biggest problems are with brake corrosion caused by very salty roads here. undercarriage corrosion is starting to take its toll. But the vehicle is still good enough we are hesitating to upgrade. Some minor, weird but occasional , electric glitches, mostly self locking. But then, the lack of electronics relative to newer models is a big plus to us. We have now owned this vehicle longer than any other we have ever had. interior issues are with the glove box hinge (plastic and breaks if you are not careful), and elbow rests cracking.

Love this car overall but I have only one complaint. I was putting some boxes in the rear of the car and one of the boxes must have touched the the rear seat folding mechanism as all of a sudden it tried to unfold the seats. If my grandchildren had been sitting there strapped in I hate to think what may have happened!! Wish you had coverage over the mechanism so this wouldn’t happen.

2016 Platinum. Nice SUV, comfortable, very powerful, decent fuel economy, fair build quality, but there are some things to be aware of; the AWD models have a PTU (power transfer unit) which sends power to the rear wheels. It is positioned very close to the exhaust, and the heat generated by the turbochargers literally cooks the gear oil in the PTU, causing it to fail. The unit only holds about a quart of oil, and is NOT serviced or checked, even when you have the vehicle serviced at the dealer. We had trouble with the front camera, and the recirculation actuator on the climate control. If you are considering a used Explorer, I highly recommend buying the best warranty you can! The only complaint I have is the road noise. On new pavement, it's quiet, but on all other roads it's VERY loud inside!
