Exactly How Car Buying Should Be! After a long day at work I walked into Lithia Ford around 5 PM knowing the exact truck, price, advertised discounts, and interest rate I wanted. Kris Thaxston was fantastic. I showed him a printed copy of the window sticker to comfirm that truck was on the lot and avaliable. I then told him what my down payment was and the terms and out the door price I expected. He handled everything completely exceeding my expectations. I was out the door and on my way home in an hour and a half driving my new truck with the exact terms and monthly payment I wanted. Right before I drove off in 101 degree weather, Kris offered to show me how the A/C and controls worked on the dashboard screen. Me being me, I said, "No, I've got it, I'll figure it out!" That turned into a hilarious ordeal on my 40-minute drive home up the mountain. As I was randomly button-mashing the screen while driving in 101-degree weather to get the air conditioner on, I can officially confirm the heated seats work exceptionally well! 2026 GMC Sierra 1500 review
A little expensive, but comfortable, quiet, smooth ride. Great performance out of the 6.2L and better than expected fuel economy in the low 20s. Outstanding interior and good looking exterior, especially in the Downpour Metallic color. I don’t have 700 miles on it yet and have owned it for 3 weeks. Therefore, I can’t pass judgement yet on the reliability, but so far I am very satisfied. This replaced an 8 year old Ford F150 that served me quite well with only a couple of issues in the 100,000 plus miles.

2026 GMC Sierra 1500 review
This is my first GMC and I absolutely love my Sierra 1500 Elevation. The 5.3L v8 is more than enough to pull my camper, I love the stylish interior and it is comfortable to drive. I also felt with the financing and discount specials this was a great deal.

2026 GMC Sierra 1500 review
I bought the AT 4 version. Loaded. Has good ground clearance. It's powered with a 3.0 l turbocharged diesel. Has lots of horsepower and torque. I've had no problem but I talked to my friend who's a certified mechanic and they're having a lot of problems with the engine blowing up at very low mileage. A lot of the time less than 15,000. Some of them have problems with the thrust bearings failing causing increased crankshaft play back and forth to the point where the timing chain and the rubber belt that runs the oil pump can fail. The engine has been described as grenading. They're basically self-destructs. There's a specific power code that indicates low oil pressure and allowed rattle sound before it finally fails. I heard that the engines were on back order, so if you're one of the unfortunates you can plan on waiting 10 or 12 weeks or longer to get your truck back. They have to remove the cab completely to swap motors. But overall I love the truck. It's a big improvement over the 2022 I just traded in.
