I have owned the XK for 7 years, it is my second Jaguar, and overall, it is an excellent car. The timeless design combined with the power of the normally aspirated 5.0 V8 make it a winning combination. Even after all these years I still enjoy every drive I take, weaving in and out of traffic at 90 mph effortlessly is just exhilarating. While the car has been reliable over the years it is not Japanese car reliable. An electrical issue that drains the battery has persisted throughout my ownership. If I leave it at the airport for 5 days it is fine, however, if it stays there 7 days it will not start. Yet the excellent technicians at Jaguar Central in Houston could find no fault, but that did not discourage them from charging me $300 – and to tell me there was nothing wrong with the car. So, I now just put it on the charger and when I am gone for more than 5 days I take an Uber to the airport. Incidentally, that was also the last time I took my car to the Jaguar dealership – I might as well pay less for a useless diagnosis. The engine itself has been very reliable and I do drive it hard and fast. But as I mentioned before it is not reliable in the Japanese car sense, so did have to change a seal in the crankshaft that was dripping oil. Additionally, all the control arms as well as the shock absorbers had to be changed. But this is probably more a function of the poor road conditions in Houston, rather than shoddy manufacturing. I also had to replace the roof lining as it came unglued and fell on my head – that on the other hand is shoddy manufacturing (or at the very least cheap glue) and should not happen in a car in this price category. The Achilles heel of this car is it’s cooling system. In both the XK and my wife’s XF the water pump had to be replaced. Additionally, most of the parts that feed the water pump had to be replaced within few weeks of each other. The reason is that the parts are plastic and very poor quality, so the lifespan is sort of like an iPhone battery doomed to fail. For probably a few hundred Dollars more they could have made the parts out of aluminum and the cars would have been bullet proof. If you can live with the slightly poor build quality and inept dealer support it is a magnificent car to drive.

I had a 2106 Cayman. I was hesitant about moving into a Jaguar. However after I drove the car (P300), I was convinced. It drove as well as the Cayman but has a better ride. Jaguar gives you a lot of options standard whereas Porsche charges much more. Examples: torque-vectoring, navigation and launch control- all standard. PLUS a $8000 rebate. These cars are going to disappear.

They also do excellent body work and custom painting and they have a state of the art mechanics shop on site at the dealership. I've only had it a few weeks. So, can't speak to reliability. But design, inside a d out, is fabulous. Engine performance (and sound) is great. Ride is a bit more calm than I expected, which is nice since this is mostly a GT for me. But, even with that forgiveness, it is planted in corners. Great blend. I won't be doing track days, so the 450 is all I need. Value is debatable for a car/toy like this. But, I have no buyer remorse, so that says something!

I purchased this car about 6 years ago (5.0 n/a XK). From a design perspective, it still holds up and looks modern. I actually like the looks of the base models as they don't have all of the side skirts and aero that change the lines of the original design a bit. The front was slightly redesigned in 2012 and looks a little more aggressive. Performance is great, end the sound of the engine when you get on the gas is addictive. Heated/Cooled seats with 16 way adjustments are great. Back seat is good for some soft luggage. I don't put a lot of miles on the car, but besides yearly oil changes my main cost has been tires. The 20" wheels & tires on this car look great... but stay away from potholes if you can. If you can get the car with 19" wheels... do it... they have some more sidewall. I've replaced both front tires due to pothole hits splitting the sidewalls. If you can't get the 19s, get a road hazard plan when you buy tires. The only other complaint is the touch screen. It is very outdated and slow... only saving grace is that it supports usb mp3 playback (no bluetooth music... only calls). There is not a ton of aftermarket add ons for these cars (exhaust and wheels) and if you get into an accident in an old one, don't be surprised if your car gets totaled out for even seemingly minor damage due to the cost of aluminum body repair. I love this car for roadtrips with the wife, and weekend drives... but I have a Subaru for driving the kids and bad weather.

This ’97 convertible is 24 years old, has 83k miles, and except for a new electrochromic rearview mirror, driver’s side seat control module, a vacuum line and a third set of Pirellis, is 100% original, and looks and runs like showroom new. Most people, particularly in America, don’t understand that Jags are for savoring, not abusing. Treat the car like the woman you love or a fine Bordeaux and it’ll last you forever. Abuse it and you’ll spend more time in the repair shop then on the road.

Highly recommend this dealership! Owner Ash and his son Bobby were fantastic to deal with. They also have a great mechanic and detail team with them. It was obvious to me that they care about the cars they are selling. I was an out of state buyer and was a little hesitant at first to buy sight unseen, but I'm so glad I went forward with the purchase. The car is exactly as described and has been so much fun! I recently purchased a 2006 XK8 to replace a 2001 that caught a deer. The '01 basically survived, but sadly the cost of replacing the hood drove the insurance company to total it. IMO, this is one of the most beautiful cars produced in the last 25 years. And there is nothing being built anywhere today that looks as good. These are not loud cars for as fast as they are (electronically limited to 155 mph). With the top up, you can have a very quiet conversation with your passenger. You might have to interrupt your chat briefly while overtaking loud muscle cars that sound like they're about to explode at high speeds, but that is a mild nuisance that will be left behind in short order. Also, the driver does need to actively watch the speedometer because of this. These cars are so quiet and poised it is difficult to tell the difference between 70mph and 100mph by looking out the window, especially if there is no other traffic. There are mechanical issues, especially with the older models. Most of the significant ones (timing chain tensioners and cylinder sleeves) should have been taken care of by now. And these were mostly already corrected in the post 2000 models. All 20 year old vechicles are going to have faults, but these are very solid vehicles, and with reasonable maintenance, they are very reliable.

I have two Jaguars. The first a 2001 XK8, I bought in 2015 from the original owner. The 2nd, a 2007 XK, I bought after the original owner traded it in to a dealer in Oregon. I had it shipped to me in Alabama. Both are a similar Pacific Blue, the 07 being Indigo Blue, slightly darker. The 01 has Ivory interior, the 07 has beige. The 01 has quite a bit of recurring maintenance from a host of items that needed redesigning, which was accomplished on the 07. Everything needed was done. The big differences between the two cars is trunk space and cabin space. The 07 Cabin accommodates a taller person where the trunk on the 01 would hold a VW Beetle and easily close. I redesigned the 01 upper shock mounts and rebuilt the mounts with new polyurethane bushings that should outlast me. I have replaced them with OEM 3 times since 2015. That chirping sound you hear is the shock mounts, metal to metal chirping. Anyway, the 01 XK8 is a nice automobile that needs near constant attention. The 07 XK is a Super Luxury GT sports car that is easy to maintain and so far, bulletproof. Nothing that I have driven in it's class compares equally. Everything else has a harsher ride and are regular sports cars. I have owned Corvettes, BMW's, Acura's, Mercedes and Porsche's. None compare. So far, I've had people compliment me on my Miata (the 01) and Corvette (both the 01 & the 07)... Jaguar is a brand of only a few in my location... very rare and no one knows what it is... up close, they just can't read, I guess. The guy was staring at the Jaguar emblem when he called it the best looking Miata he had ever seen. LOL!

I recently called Monaco Motor Group about a Porsche they had, and I'm really kicking myself for not acting faster. By the time I decided to go ahead with the purchase, it was already sold. Owned two in the last 10 years. Started out on the first one researching every used bang for your buck performance convertible out there. Hands down it was this. And timeless elegant styling that will draw a lot of compliments and look like you were driving a much more expensive car than what you can get them for. Under Ford these cars became extremely reliable. Highly recommend them. And highly recommend spending a lot of time on the Jaguar forums out there. You can learn so much.

I purchased my 2016 F Type R AWD last December 2022. Since then I have driven about 2000 miles without issue. I test drove everything from 911 to AMG GTS before purchasing the F Type. Lots of AWD HP without fish tailing. Can drive for hours at a time with comfort. Lots of attention, it was a little weird at first. Modification not necessary. I highly recommend.

Outstanding touring car for two normal-sized people (under 200 or so pounds each). Trunk in convertible model is large for a sports-tourer, and able to easily carry two sets of golf clubs plus. Space behind seats is best used for medium-sized back packs or only very small kids. Car has stunning looks and gets a lot of attention so be prepared for a lot of questions. I've owned my 2003 since about 2006 when it was still under factory warranty. Car has been very reliable and problem free. I have it serviced at an after-market Jaguar shop with factory-trained owners who suggest repairs before they produce problems (such as cooling hoses and brake parts when they wear out or get soft), etc. Jaguar parts, when you do need them, are not cheap but why should they be? Quality anything is not cheap and that's why I like my Jaguar. It's a very beautiful and stunning car in all respects and I'm glad I bought mine when I did. It's Jaguar Racing Green with a tan top and light beige interior and has a six speed with a clutch-less shifter which is as smooth as butter (but why not, it's a ZF, which is German). It's got 19" wheels, maybe chromed by the selling dealer in LA. If you don't like lots of attention and plenty of questions, don't buy a Jaguar. I don't regret not getting the supercharged model because my 4.2 V-8 has plenty of power and the "super" model only came with Navigation, which quickly became obsolescent. I prefer the three gages in the walnut dash in place of the Nav. system. The drop-dead gorgeous dashboard is hard to take your eyes off while driving on a sunny day with the top down. But I manage! I love my Jag and it's not for sale!

I just bought this Coupe with 60,000 miles on the clock. The vehicle had been in a minor accident, but is still in decent condition. He runs like a stallion! I plan on changing out the transmission filter/fluid to keep the transmission shifting smoothly. (I am currently replacing the valve chains/tensioners on April 2nd, 2024). I'll keep working on the interior and plan on replacing the old headlamps with LED units. I also plan on removing (and selling) the rear seats, replacing them with slide bars for extra luggage room. This really is a two-seat, Grand Touring automobile, not a Sports Coupe. Since I have no family (and never will) the XK8 will allow me to travel at 1000+ mile stretches in comfort. The style is impeccable and the engine's smooth performance is pulse-quickening. Since I live in Northwestern Oregon, the convertible wasn't a practical option, so I sought out a Coupe. (I'm happy that I did). Put your money into restoring one of these Grand Touring machines. You'll gain more attention than the Corvette, Mercedes, Audi, Nissan and Porsche owners and you'll enjoy the ride. Come on. You know that you really want one, or you wouldn't be reading this.

Matthew Ryan answered the phone when I called about a pre owned vehicle at the Audi dealership. There were complications with getting my husband in whose name we had a car loan to the dealership. Matthew brought the car to our home. We did all the paper work inside with the help of George Awad on the hot day. He returned to the dealership, got the VA plates and returned. A great reliable car with low cost of maintenance. The Jaguar reputation of years ago is long gone. Many people have asked if it is an Aston Martin.
