Used Saab 9-3 for sale under $5,000 near me

Anyone who complains about a Saab simply doesnt take care of it. The Saab has been an absolute joy to have. The car is solid in everyway possible. Yes, the parts can be a bit expensive, but that is due to the company closing its doors in 2011. And the rarer your model and options the harder and more expensive it can be to get. However, as long as you take care of the car and upkeep the basic maintenance it runs perfect. There are plenty of videos to help you diagnosis issues if you have any. And you can always visit forums to ask for help. Yes GM had engineered some stuff in Saab. But the car is literally built to last, as long as you do the maintenance. If you get a lemon i feel bad for you. But other than that its a great car.

Got the car back in 2010 with about 11k miles it's still running great with regular maintenance at ~284k miles now. Some minor issues along the way but still runs great.

I am the third owner of 99 9-3 convertible Got 195 on the clock so far Barring the turbo needing to be replaced - hence the 4 star on performance - it's quick once up to speed and passing is never an issue It strong - yes very pick and temperamental - getting the SID as we speak just like VW dash boards the connections for the SID are useless The car will let no know in more than one way what it needs - tune ups new DIC ( direct injector cassette) all easy to find and replace yourself ( 15 minute job at most ) Love this car - gonna do everything I can to keep it on the road !!!

I recently purchased a 2004 Saab 9 3 Arc convertible. I knew very little about Saabs but they always intrigued me. I've only had it for a few days but I am very impressed with its overall quality, comfort and performance. Saab stopped making cars in 2012 because they could not compete with their Audi and Mercedes target market. Having owned both of those German brands, I think Saab approaches them in quality. Test drive one, I think you'll enjoy it.

This is the most reliable car I’ve ever owned. Drove her off the lot brand new and 16 years later and 150K miles, she’s still smooth as silk. Only repairs are a window and windshield wiper!! So sad they don’t make these cars anymore.

This car was amazing. It lasted 12 years and 190,000 miles before a tree landed on it and it needed too many repairs. Over those 12 years is only needed an alternator and a seat rip repaired, that is it. The car was excellent as it handled well, it got great gas mileage (averaged 26 mpg in the suburbs, 35 or 36 mpg on the highway), and had nice acceleration with minimal turbo lag. The fact is was so durable made you overlook to some degree the unusual controls. The turn stalk felt flimsy like you could break it easily but over all those years nothing went wrong with it. The key is in the center but that was fine and Saab claimed they did it so you would not hit it with your knee in a car accident, and break your kneecap. This car even had one USB port even though it was a little before its time. The heads-up display worked well. Even though the car was badly damaged by the tree as I had to go off road and damaged the underside of my car badly, my mechanic bought it from me, fixed it, and sold it to a college student. Now it is 13 years old and has over 200,000 miles on the original powertrain. If that is not durable I don't know what is. No car I have owned has lasted as long as that one - not Toyota, not Honda. They also have lasted a long time but the transmissions on both of them died by 160,000 miles for the Toyota, by 140,000 on the Honda. If I could buy a relatively new one again I would but of course I cannot as they are no longer in business. Too bad, despite their quirks, they were durable, reliable, efficient cars.

Most comfortable seats ever, and it came fully loaded with options that you would normally have to pay extra for in other car brands. It has been a reliable and good car for us. If they were still being produced we would buy another one.

I was currently rolling around in a busted up Lincoln continental that looked like it was old during the bicentennial. The boys took my car in as a trade to help offset the cost of the new car. My ratings on recent buy are conservative & will have it thoroughly checked out, but runs like a dream, especially for an older car with 13K on it. These cars are heavy, with parts welded to the frame, quiet, and safe. They are also gas sippers with over 30 mpg hwy and mid 20s in town.

I tried to look at cars at many other places and no other dealerships would even try to haggle, some said their policy is not to haggle. I'm buying a car so haggling is kind of part of it. North town auto sales was very reasonable with their price and when I saw the car the price came down even further because of minor wear to the vehicle like any dealership should.

This car drives like a dream - and has the power of most lower end performance cars and the functionality of a truck! Great economy/power combination. Handling is fantastic, braking is great! The seats are very comfortable for long distance driving - just with SAAB would have kept using their leather and not GM materials here. Overall it's a great car and if you have never driven one - go drive one and fall in love!
