I brought this truck in 2019. I kept taking it back to the dealership to get tweaked several times. Once it was figured out, never got any problems ever again. A little weak on the power side, but, other than that, its a magnificent vehicle. A total work horse. Great on gas. It is totally worth it.

I purchased this Jeep brand new in 2012 as a 2013 Model, I have since put 150,000 miles on. It is a Jeep and can get a little uncomfortable on long highway drives. I took this on a 3 week coast to coast road trip across the US I would know. It does a great job towing my 20foot i/o boat to and from the lake, but wouldn't recommend long trips with that much to tow. Maintenance has been astonishingly low, the only things I needed was regular oil changes, brakes, and a radiator leak that was covered under warranty. This is one of the best all around vehicles, top down cruising in the summer and 4x4 for the snowy PA winters.

This is my 2nd XC40 and it is one of the most perfect cars but its by no means cheap. The car can be as loaded as its bigger brother, except for heads up display. They all use the same engines, with the exception of turbo types, and bi-turbo options. All Volvos are moving to mild hybrid as standard and all 2023 XC40's are now mild hybrids. The XC40 is nimble, loaded and well designed. It has just about every feature including all wheel drive, Google auto, panoramic sunroof, power tail gate, and leather seats, redesigned for 2023. It is stylish, detailed and not meant to feel like the entry model. In fact, it can cost more than its bigger brother the XC60! Driving it is a pleasure as it is preppy and confident.

PROS: * Overall 39 or 40 MPG combined city and highway. Really. * 500+ mile range on a full tank * Toyota's driver assist goodies work well (radar cruise, et. al) to reduce driver fatigue in both stop-and-go commuting and highway trips. * Sufficient power and acceleration to compete with big-city freeway traffic; uphill freeway on-ramps and so forth. * Nicely agile without being skittish. It goes where you tell it to with no drama. * I have done mild off-roading in Arizona. No problems, handles as hoped for. CONS: * Only one I can think of. Front seats are stiff. I find myself shifting my weight to get comfortable more often than I like.

My wife and I enjoy our XT4 and we have drive it over 19,000 miles in 11 months. People complaining about issues apparently didn’t test drive one before they purchased other wise they shouldn’t be complaining. Performance 8 Comfort. 8 Quality. 7 Exterior finish 9 Interior 8 Ride. 7 Quietness. 8 Nimbleness. 8 Handling. 7 Rear seat room 6 Over all for the value it’s a very nice car. The sunroof had a rattle - dealer repaired a loose clip - fixed - - dealership replaced its battery it seemed weak - replaced with a more powerful one. We have at times spent 7-8 hours highway driving found it very comfortable and quiet. Headlights light of the road ahead very good. In all a very good car. Sounds like some owners should have driven one more before purchasing one or maybe purchased a larger model. We have owned many much more expensive vehicles and this one is in the top ones we have owned. We are in our 70’s so its smaller size is great for getting around. We haven’t had any issues like their complaining about. We will purchase another one possibly a 2025 model.

Do your homework and research the vehicle of your choice. I bought the escape used in 2024. So far, no recalls and it was a great buy, and I love it. I have the 2.0 turbo 240 horsepower. I use premium gas, full synthetic oil and change the transmission fluid every 30 thousand miles. I also read that once you get to your destination, let the car idle for 10 seconds so the turbo has time to rid any excess output.

My boyfriend bought his car from Carmax and it was a great experience. So when I needed a new car I looked at Carmax as well. They had everything I wanted but I thought I would get a better deal at a dealership... Boy was I wrong. Went to three different dealerships almost went through with a deal but they couldn't get me a good interest rate. It was so painful and awful I had decided to give up and just sink money into my current car and try again next year. I had an appointment at carmax the following Sunday and Dwyane called me to verify the time. I told him what happened the previous day and said I would be keeping my car because I needed a good rate and didn't want to be making crazy payments. He said, I hear you and totally understand, I'm happy to help you whenever you're ready. Just so you know when you are ready I have a good rate for you so I know we can find you something to make you happy. I was surprised because the other dealership said we couldn't get close to what I needed. Well folks, I'm in a new car, my payments aren't crazy and I have peace of mind. I have a GT model, the fast one ;). I have had for 6 months and 7k miles now. It does not get old to put it in GT mode (full 576hp) and step on it. Ultra fast car and a complete sleeper. I got a screaming deal on it, paid 2/3 of the MSRP price. Love the no maintenance aspect of it (minimal stuff required). Great interior at this price point, not a BMW/Audi interior, but excellent for the segment it competes in. Very happy and highly recommended!

Now in my 6th year with my 2017 and still like it. My complaints are simple. Needs larger fuel tank, better gas mileage considering its size and engine, would prefer manual transmission, and get rid of the xxxx engine shut off function. Love the size, comfortable, still seems solid. My only repair was replacement of the satnav unit that crapped out.

I love my XT4 I owned a XT5 before and loved that as well. The only thing is I wished they would make adaptive cruise a standard feature on all especially since it has everything else. I know the car companies do that to bump the price however I believe it should be on all, for safety.

Having owned 1 srx and 2 xt5. Now an xt4, I think it is the most appealing. My loaded sport has all the luxury and safety features. I drive it in sport for kicks, and 2wd for economy. If you don't need cargo space but like the xt5, go for it! Enjoy!
