Vehicles Affected: Approximately 20,400 model-year 2018-19 Chrysler Pacifica minivans equipped with the 8.4-inch multimedia display, 360-degree camera and seatback video screens
The Problem: A software error can cause the backup-camera image to remain on the multimedia screen after the vehicle has been shifted out of Reverse; the image display may distract the driver and increase the risk of a crash.
The Fix: Dealers will update the software for free.
What Owners Should Do: Chrysler parent company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will begin notifying owners Jan. 31. Owners can call the automaker at 800-853-1403, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
