Child-safety seat manufacturer Dorel has issued a recall for 83,000 car seats in an action relating to belt installation that could lead to a child’s head injury.

The recall involves Dorel’s Maxi-Cosi Pria 85 convertible car seat. When the seat is installed in the forward-facing position and secured to the car using the lap belt without also using the top tether, the seat may not adequately protect the occupant from head injury in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
For now, Dorel has yet to develop a remedy or provide a notification schedule for owners. If you have further questions, you can call the brand at 877-657-9546 or visit NHTSA’s website to check their vehicle identification number for other recalls and learn more.
