Alongside another recall that involves the SUV, Ford is recalling more than 35,700 examples of its Explorer over an issue with the passenger-side headlight.

Affected vehicles include model-year 2025-26 Explorers. The issue involves a software error in the Dynamic Bending Light adaptive headlight system, which may cause the passenger-side headlight to turn in the wrong direction in curves on the road, resulting in increased glare to other drivers and heightened risk of a crash.
To resolve the issue, the headlight control module software can be updated by a dealer or via an over-the-air update for free. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed March 23; in the meantime, owners with further questions may contact Ford at 866-436-7332 (the automaker’s number for this recall is 26C12), the National Traffic Safety Administration vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit the NHTSA website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
