Genesis’ Supercar Concept Gets a Wild Interior
What Car Shoppers Need to Know
- The Magma GT will be Genesis’ first supercar.
- It will be powered by a twin-turbocharged V-8 engine.
- The Magma GT’s two-seat interior prioritizes comfort and class.
In just 17 years, Genesis has evolved from a single big sedan built by Hyundai to a full-fledged luxury brand that outsells Infiniti and is closing in on established makes such as Lincoln and Acura. Its next major evolution will be a step into supercars with the gorgeous Magma GT.
Genesis has already shown off its upcoming supercar in concept form. But at the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans car race in France, which the brand is competing in for the first time, Hyundai’s luxury arm gave us our first look at the Magma GT’s interior. It is not a disappointment.

Positively Jaw-Dropping
Just as the Magma GT’s exterior channels unobtainable exotica like a Koenigsegg, the concept’s cabin looks like it belongs to a vehicle with a seven-figure price tag. Upholstered in quilted leather and suede, the Magma GT Concept’s interior features a huge center console that divides the car into clear driver and passenger cells. Atop that console, just below a minuscule display — by modern standards — for the climate controls is a shifter that recalls the gated aluminum pieces in Ferraris and Lamborghinis of yore.
The Magma performance division has used orange as the signature color in many of its earlier concept cars. In the GT Concept, the color is deployed extensively throughout the cabin. It’s used for the stitching that quilts the leather, the piping along panel edges and the ambient cabin lighting. It’s also the backlighting color for the large analog tachometer that is mounted directly in the driver’s line of sight behind the steering wheel. That wheel, by the way, boasts monstrous shift paddles.
Merely Tantalizing or a Genuine Preview?
While the Magma GT is still technically a concept, Genesis is open about its production plans for the car. The interior is ornate, but it doesn’t strike us as out of the realm of possibility. Perhaps what you see in these pictures is merely a design study or internal inspiration. Perhaps it will be an optional upgrade package on the eventual production car. A few commodity parts like window switches and the start button look out of place in such a lavish interior, but they also lend credence to the notion that Genesis is gauging production viability of the treatment. The one thing that is certain is that the brand has come a long way since the 2009 Hyundai Genesis.
