How Much Is the 2026 GMC Terrain?

GMC fully redesigned the compact Terrain for the 2025 model year but launched the overhauled SUV in a single trim level. For 2026, the lineup reaches full strength, with the AT4 and Denali trims joining the base Elevation. Other than a base price $100 lower than the 2025 model’s, the Elevation is unchanged. But with the AT4 and Denali arriving, a lot is new for the Terrain and its appeal widens significantly. The 2026 GMC Terrain starts at $31,295 (all prices include $1,395 destination charge).

What Are the 2026 GMC Terrain’s Trim Levels?
The entry-level Elevation trim encapsulates GMC’s positioning as Chevrolet’s upmarket cousin. It rides on 17-inch wheels and has LED head- and taillights, keyless entry and start, and remote start. Its seats are upholstered in cloth, heated and manually adjustable in the front. The Elevation also features single-zone automatic climate control, a heated steering wheel, six speakers, an 11-inch digital instrument panel, and a 15-inch touchscreen with Google Built-In and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
AT4 is GMC’s off-road-oriented trim level, but other than LED foglights, a unique front bumper with red tow hooks and all-terrain tires on 17-inch wheels, the Terrain AT4 is all about looking the part. It does, however, receive additional luxury equipment such as upgraded LED head- and taillights, rain-sensing windshield wipers with a heated resting position, and a hands-free power liftgate. Inside, the AT4 features cloth and synthetic leather, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control and wireless phone charging.
At the top of the Terrain lineup is the Denali, which rides on 19-inch wheels and boasts leather upholstery, a power-adjustable front passenger seat, driver’s seat memory settings, ventilated front seats and heated outboard rear seats.
Standard and Available Safety Features
The 2026 GMC Terrain has a generous list of standard safety technologies, including forward collision warning with pedestrian and bicyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, front and rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, lane departure warning, lane departure steering assist, blind spot intervention, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, and rear parking sensors with automatic braking.
In addition to those widely available systems, it also features GM’s unique trio of protective tech. Buckle to Drive prevents the vehicle from being shifted out of Park until the driver fastens their seat belt; Safety Alert Seat vibrates the sides or the whole bottom cushion to alert the driver to the direction of potential hazards; and Teen Driver allows parents to limit or block out certain vehicle functions when a specific key fob is used to start the Terrain.
The AT4 gains no additional safety features, but the Denali adds a 360-degree camera system, rear pedestrian alert, a rearview mirror camera and road-sign recognition.
What Are the 2026 GMC Terrain’s Powertrain Specs and MPG?
A 175-horsepower, turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine powers every 2026 Terrain. With standard FWD, it makes 184 pounds-feet of torque, and AWD variants have slightly more torque, with 203 pounds-feet. Front-drive Terrains feature a continuously variable automatic transmission, while AWD versions have an eight-speed automatic.
GMC says the 2026 Elevation returns the same 26/28/27 mpg city/highway/combined with FWD and 24/28/25 with AWD as the 2025 model (official EPA ratings are not yet available). The AT4 and Denali are both rated at 24/26/25 mpg.
