Honesty, Integrity……..not so much!

BAIT & SWITCH! Shame on me! I purchased my second vehicle from Chapman Ford this year. The first time they threw in extra charges for a theft warranty. After reaching out to them, they agreed to provide a refund for something that I was clear about not wanting. Well, yesterday I decided to trade-in and purchase another vehicle from Chapman Ford. As the usual, Michael F, the sales person goes back to the manager to get the “best price” for repeat customers they refer to as “family”. Well, the funny thing is the price they returned with for the vehicle was actually a few thousand dollars HIGHER than their CURRENT ADVERTISED PRICE. After discussing with Michael F (used sales guy) what I was willing to pay for the difference between my trade-in and their vehicle, and, per his request, initialing the amount that I would agree to, he reluctantly went back to present my offer to the manager. He returned several minutes later and said “Merry Christmas, I can’t believe they agreed to it but they excepted your terms”. What he didn’t say was they had taken away some of the add-ons that were included in the original deal. BAIT & SWITCH! It’s very frustrating to find out the next day that it was a bait and switch. Well, it didn’t end there. Then, I got to go to the finance office to do the paperwork. As a word of advise, when you go to the finance office, you need to be prepared or you will pay for things you don’t want before they even try to sell you things that you might actually want….like an extended warranty. Apparently, Chapman Ford makes it a practice of automatically adding in extras fees for (1) lifetime nitrogen air for your tires (not free), (2) Safe Guard theft protection ($229) and a KARR BT Warranty ($699) and the famous document prep fee ($499). All of these are HIGH margin products for the dealer to make money. After all of that, they then try to sell you an extended warranty ($3995 in my case), a maintenance service plan (a few more thousand $$) and even more if you’re willing to listen. Depending on the vehicle, the extended warranty could be a good thing for you but that is something you need to decide prior to going into the finance office. Let’s just say, if you’re not sure what they are saying to sign or selling you, take your time! I was offered an extended warranty for $3995. When I explained to the finance manager that I have a friend that works for Ford and I can get it cheaper, he then offered the same warrant to me for $2100. Again, this was the friends and family price which is only $100 above their cost they say….HA! The funny thing is that ANYONE can go online and find the exact same Ford ESP Warranty (the best that Ford offers) for less than $1700 in my case for the exact same FORD ESP Warranty……Wow!! The first thing that should have been a red flag for me was hearing Michael, the sales rep, tell me how good they are, they are not in it for the money and how they really want to take care of their customers. They keep saying it over and over hoping that you will believe it…..and I fell for it. My suggestion is NEVER buy the same day you walk in. Leave and do your research!

We recently bought out our lease at chapman. We put it my husbands name only because of my health. I discussed my handicap plate Three times. He assured me I would not lose my plate. Well the only way to get it again is to Refinance the car and put it both names with a new contract. Very upset!!!!!

Probably the best experience I’ve had with a dealership. Saw a vehicle I was very interested in online, and reached out via email. Chapman Weddle was the salesperson to help me out and he managed to get me a reasonable and honest deal. Out if the 4 salespeople I spoke to while car shopping online, he was the only one to truly help me out to get a deal. Got a price breakdown via email, and the next day I purchased said vehicle. No hassle, no surprise fees, or typical salesman lies. It was honestly a very pleasant surprise when I got to the dealership and the numbers I got via email were the numbers that were written on the purchase invoice. Also they gave me a very good price for my trade-in. Very impressed! I really recommend looking into this dealership for your next car purchase.

Placed an order for a Bronco Sport back in late Feb. Had to wait a long time for its arrival, Aug. 4th. At no fault of Chapman's though, and actually they may have helped speed it up from some of the Bronco Sport Blogs from other customers I read. During the wait though, our sales person Kelly kept me informed of the build status and even let us know if something close to my order came in to see if I was interested instead of waiting. When the car arrived, Kelly and a co-worker, Aimee were great in having the car ready, paperwork ready and a quick turn around to get us back on the road. They were very pleasant to work with. I am very appreciative of Kelly, Aimee and Chapman's honesty and customer service they gave me. Everything offered and worked out at the time of the order was still in place and accurate when the car arrived and we sat down to finish the sale contract. Great dealership, I highly recommend. Thanks

Avoid this dealerships

Bought a 2019 Nissan Versa used from this dealership and a year later the ABS warning light came on. Long story short took it for diagnosis and told somebody rigged the wire to have the light turned off. It was a bad repair causing me to pay slightly over $200. Have it on paper from brake masters indicating somebody tempered with it as it was not a factory wire.

Brad, We are sorry you are experiencing trouble with the vehicle. We performed a thorough inspection over a year ago and the vehicle operated with no concerns until recently. We have not seen the vehicle here in our shop since you took delivery. Your maintenance records show its been inspected and serviced at a Nissan dealer and brakemasters multiple times over the last year. I would recommend the servicing dealer assist with the repair. Best regards, Robert Rose

Purchased a 2019 Nissan Versa. Year plus later the ABS light came on....told by Brake masters that somebody tried to repair it with solder shoddily. Wasn't me, never had to play around with it, however it was likely done by the rental car company that owned it. Had to pay $200 to have the wire fixed properly. Don't buy a used car from this place. They charged over $1k for nonsense "reconditioning" fee which included Nitrogen in tires which is a sham. Buyer beware. Test drive horrible as car had flat tire or low pressure.
