Poor Customer Service

I was so disappointed with the customer service that I received on 8/26/16 from Ben at the Heath location. I was so excited to test drive a Durango I found online. I called and asked if I should set up an appointment and was told to come on in at 5 the next day (8/26). He did say it could sell by the next day and he would let me know for sure. At 4 on the 26th I received a text from Ben stating the car I wanted to test drive would more than likely not be at that location. I was confused. He stated that the Newark location came and got it that morning w/o checking with him for a test drive at 5. I called the night before and set up my time at 5pm with Ben! He stated "well I told you it could sell and we don't hold vehicles". I understood that and never asked for it to be held. They allowed another location to take the vehicle though, for a test drive at the same time I scheduled and I scheduled prior to that! They essentially held it for the other person at 5! If he would have test driven it at 4 and bought it that would be understandable but that is not what happened. I was noticeably frustrated and said that to Ben and his response was "I told you it could sell, I don't understand.." I said I had an appt with you at the same time as the other person at the other location and you allowed them to take the vehicle to another location, taking my test drive time. I then said so if I would have made my appointment at the Newark location I could be test driving it. He just acted like I was an idiot. I set up a time to test drive a vehicle at the location it was listed at, someone else requested the SAME time, after me, and was able to test drive it at another location. Mistakes are made I get that but he never took ownership of it other than saying they did not check with him first. He actually made me feel like I was in the wrong and made my decision clear to NOT buy from this dealership. I was qualified and ready to buy that night. After being argued with my husband finally said let's go and Ben said "YEA". Goes to show you what good and bad customer service can do. I will never buy from this dealership whether that vehicle has sold or not.

Anna, I am very sorry to hear about this mix-up. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen from time to time, and we always feel awful, as the client can't do anything but feel like they are stuck in the middle. While I will not defend Ben, he should have taken full responsibility for this "fallen on his sword" so-to-speak, I will mention that Ben really does have nothing to do with, nor any power to control where our vehicles are sent, or to whom they are sent. Clearly communication failed between our separate business, and the Management staff at each. Truly best there is!

There for service on my Tundra. Multi point inspection and oil change. Return to Coughlin which is farther away from local dealer near me because of great staff and technician work I trust to be done right. Bought my truck ther in 2012. Best I've dealt with in 40 years of vehicle ownership!

Easy to use web site for service

Had my 10,000 mile service at Coughlin on my new Tocama. Easy to set up and schedule using their on line site. They also followed up by phone. Going to Coughlin is a lot better than having to run to Columbus for service. Give'm a try.

Fair and Attentive Service

I have used Coughlin for automobile needs for almost twenty years, though 3 new car purchases, 3 leased cars, and various service appointments at two different dealer locations. I keep returning because I find them to be easy to work with, honest, and fair, and because they deliver high quality service is both the sales and service departments. I recommend them without hesitation for anyone looking for a Toyota!

Definitely worth the 3.5 hour drive one way

My wife and I had been looking for a truck locally (eastern Kentucky) for a few months. We really couldn't find anything that was prefect in our eyes. We drove within a 100 mile radius frequently and browsed the autotrader, cars.com, cars guru, etc just about every day. The vehicles wouldn't be what they seemed online or slightly out of budget. I decide to bump my search radius up to 250 miles. I found several but I really didn't want to drive that far just to take a look at a truck that might not work out. As I continued to search I kept coming back to this one particular truck over and over. It had everything I wanted but just slightly over budget. I decided to email the dealership. The internet sales manager, Ben, replied willing to help with anything he could. I bet I sent him 10 different emails asking about the truck, the details, the condition, features, etc. I felt like I was aggravating him, but to be honest I didn't want to be disappointed again like I had in the past. Especially having to drive 3.5 hours one way with two kids. He answered every single question with extreme politeness and very quickly. I had 3 trucks in mind, all at 3 different dealerships. I decided to go look at them that day with Coughlin as my first stop. When I arrived he had the truck waiting for inside a heated bay area with garage doors. It was raining that day. I thought that was a nice, polite touch right of the start. He answered every new question about the truck I had. The truck was even better in person than online. The details were spot on from the website and it was very well serviced from the dealership. We test drove it, fell in love, ultimately decided to buy it. We went over the numbers with his truck, the financing, and my trade in. I needed it just a little to fit in budget. He worked every angle possible trying to get me the best deal and make me happy. (The whole time being very nice to my children, making them smile) We finally came to an agreement and bought the truck. All in all, it couldn't have gone any smoother. It wasn't because we were in love with the new truck, or tired from driving, but because of him. He made the process extremely easy. The dealership was immaculate inside and all of the other salesman were just as nice. You could tell that it wasn't a front to sell a car like some of the local dealerships. These guys genuinely cared. If I ever have to buy another vehicle, coughlin is the first place I'm going to look. I couldn't have asked for a more fantastic experience. It was definitely worth the 7 hours of drive time.

A few things I forgot. He took my Iraq Veterans license plate off for me knowing that'd I'd like to keep it without even mentioning it to him. Also, he went down the road road and put some gas in the truck for me to get home. After adding more gas later on, I opened the fuel door and found a "Thank You" note from him. Nice touch Ben. You really hit the ball out of the park on this deal. Thanks again for the experience.

Super Dealership

New Truck purchase

Keeps getting better. This is the 4 vehicle I have now purchased from Coughlin. I have visited other dealers but feel that I get that "Used Car sales guy experience". My experience with Coughlin absolutely has taken any doubt about who I deal with. Tyler and team has taken that extra step to understand what I want/need/expect in a deal and removed all doubt. There is a reason I go out of my way from Sunbury to Newark to buy a car. THank you...

Excellent Experience

Overall it was fantastic. The team was so easy to work with and took the stress out of buying a new vehicle. I would highly recommend Coughlin Toyota. Working with Matt Dillon and Ben Parks was an absolutely delightful and enjoyable experience.
