Kim, We are sorry that things didn't work out too....

Kim, We are sorry that things didn't work out too. To spend 12+ hours of our time and then have to walk away with no new vehicle was a complete disappointment. An even bigger disappointment is the fact that I asked you (over the phone last week) why this vehicle was priced lower than similar Siennas -even lower than an 06 on your lot- and you did not have an answer for me. All you had to do was look at the Carfax report and see that it had been a rental vehicle AND had been in an accident. THAT'S why it was priced the way that it was. It has a crappy cover-up paint job on both bumpers, ugly stains in the back interior and an unknown history. My "experience" at Irwin was a poor one. My Dad taught me to be truthful and treat others with respect and there was failure on your part in these catagories. I think the world needs more people with open hearts, not less. I know that car sales is a business and money needs to be made but that can co-exist with true concern and caring for your customers. The Irwin team needs to try harder at that. -Kathy Rouleau

Dealer response

Kathy- Per my follow up letter as well as Kim's follow up e-mail we are very disappointed that things didn't work out and apologize for any inconvenience. In the letter I sent you I included the AutoCheck report that shows we ran an Autocheck Vehicle History Report when we bought the vehicle from a rental car company. However, unfortunately an accident was reported on the vehicle after this which we would have had no idea about. I certainly do apologize for the inconvenience but we were as transparent as we could be with the pictures of the vehicle as well as the video walk around that Kim sent to you. Finally, when your husband called me a week later making an offer on the vehicle I apologize that we weren't able to come to terms. Should you have any future questions or concerns please contact me directly. Chris Irwin

I purchased a Toyota Avalon from Irwin last December and my wife just purchased a Ford Edge from them this week. In both cases I worked with Geoff Cunningham and Betty Ballantyne - they are a great team, treated us fairly and overall are just a pleasure to do business with.

even though we are not in a position to take advantage of the "cash for clunkers" program, this dealer was honest enough and explained all the components of that program and made suggestions for the future. He did not try to get us to drive all the way to the dealership (45 miles or so) to see or talk about something that we were not interested in...much appreciated. We are likely to be in a position to purchase a new(er) Tacoma by May 2010 and will strongly consider this experience at that time. Thanks!

Service Department employees are always...

Service Department employees are always courteous, friendly, helpful, and honest,'right up front', with detailed explanations of required work provided both verbally and in writing. Dave Piper is and has always been an extremely helpful service manager. Service technicians have also been friendly and helpful when I ask for additional clarification. Friendly reminders, of periodic auto service needs are sent in writing, right on schedule. I have a '93 Camry and an '02 Highlander, and I always have both Toyotas serviced at Irwin Toyota. They also have a wonderful Owner Protection Program that credits money back toward future service work, and new Tires purchased at Irwin include free rotation with every other oil change! I recommnend Irwin Toyota to anyone considering purchasing a car, new or used, because my experience as both a buyer and a service dept. customer has been very positive. Wayne Bredvik Meredith, NH

I have been dealing with Irwins since I bought my 2005 Toyota and I am very satisfied. I have found Irwins to be very helpful whenever I need service and they always take me to where ever I need to go while I am waiting for my car to be fixed. Everyone that I have dealt with is very helpful.

My Ford F-150 was making funny noises from the tires. The vehicle was under a 'drivetrain' waranty and I figured that it was time to deal with it. Turns out that there was something wrong which wasn't covered under the waranty. Go figure. I wasn't too excited about that, but whatever. Quoted $375ish to fix the vehicle. Anyway, while the vehicle was in the shop they discovered something called a 'pinion seal leak' or something like that which was covered under the waranty. They fixed that, while the vehicle was in I asked them to do the State Inspection and to change the oil. When I picked up the vehicle the final cost was under $280. I was very happy with that. All of the work was done promptly and I haven't had any problems in the 1000 miles I've driven since then.

Irwin Motors takes the time to deal with the challenges of the auto business. They listen to your comments, concerns etc. and take appropriate action. The public would be well advised to buy their vehicle from Irwin and return for necessary service. They won't be disappointed.

Always met by friendly, efficient personnel and the work is done in a timely manner. Waiting room always has fresh coffee and newspapers. A gentleman always shows me the paperwork and explains whatever work that was done. The girl who collects the money is especially nice.
