Minimal Effort/Maximum Profit, Short-Term Strateg
There is a reason why companies like Carmax are making dealerships obsolete: Bought a used car virtually; 50,000 miles on the car and very clean. Took forever to strike a deal. Suburban was quick to take my down payment, and then slow to finalize sale. Could not confirm shipment timing. Suburban slow walked documents that were supposed to be overnight'd to keep things moving. Expected me to run around and complete inspection documentation that they could easily complete sitting at their desk. Warranty was not activated until I made a huge stink with Management. Finally received car two weeks after down payment (note they are only 400 miles away). Car drove okay for 20 minutes. Let car sit for several hours, then drove again and notice rear end noise when turning, gears howling and whining. Realized why they took so long to close the deal and ship: Inspected car with techs and saw yellow marker writing all over the rear end assembly, indicating the part was from a junkyard. Sales told me rear end was a noted issue and was supposed to have been fixed and that they couldn't guarantee a second repair would use new parts despite the extended service plan. Took the car to my local dealer and they told me they could not guarantee that Ford would approve Warranty claim since the assembly appeared to be a junkyard part, and that it would be several weeks before they could get around to diagnosing. They recommended I send the car back to Suburban Ford, which was out of the question after all of the previous games. Had my own mechanic inspect and repair and found bad LSD unit and worn axles. Junkyard part had gotten moisture in the axle housings at some point. $2500 out-of-pocket cost to repair- and upgrade- what appears to be a 20-year-old assembly that had been installed on a 10-year-old car. Why Suburban didn't fix it correctly- and charge me $100 for Warranty co pay- is beyond logic.

Ferndale Ford is the worst dealership I have ever used.
Ferndale Ford is the worst dealership I have ever used. Finance officer screwed up the finance paperwork and warranty paperwork. It took almost 3 months to get everything straightened out. Numerous calls and messages and nothing was getting done. Some how by accident I wound up talking with Mr Antonio Sbrocca. He went to work on the problems and corrected them in a timely fashion. I am totally satisfied with the job Mr Sbrocca did he rates 5 stars plus. The dealership gets 1 star only because I can't leave 0 stars. Mr Sbrocca is the only positive thing about this purchase.

I live 4 hours away from the dealership and I drove there just for a particular truck I couldn't find anywhere else. I have been trying to reach someone there since the middle of August when I discovered the problems. I've lost count of how many times that I called the dealership. I had talked to several people and left several messages on voicemail. And no one ever responded until I talked to Antonio Sbrocca. Nicole the original finance person changed the finance paperwork after I left and drove home. She also put in the wrong numbers on the extended warranty. Charging me but not giving me what I paid for. I understand that Nicole is no longer employed there but it begs the question, how many other deals did she screw up that haven't been discovered. Since the early 1990's I have purchased and leased over 2 dozen new vehicles from different dealerships. And never had there been anything like this. As I said Ferndale Ford is the worst dealership I've ever dealt with. Kinda funny that I never heard from the dealership until I posted several negative posts on a bunch of automotive media sites. If you truly want to speak to me you have my contact info at the dealership. I'm done trying.
No warranties with the parts and service at Ford
service today. the service part is probably ok. I did not receive the usual "report card" from the works oil change so I don't know if anything was looked at. My car was not washed at the end of the service. The paper work is full of warranty disclaimers. Basically the dealership can destroy my car and I have no recourse. This is not the kind of dealership I will do business with.
