Here’s my story. I purchased a CPO 2018 Boxster GTS in Houston. My closest dealership is Napleton Porsche in Springfield, MO. I had a problem with the driver’s side blind spot warning light turning on when there was nothing there. I took the 1½ hour drive to Springfield twice to have it fixed and Napleton Porsche was unable to fix it. They even insisted that I remove a small vinyl decal of Hallett Motor Racing Circuit to try to fix it because they obviously didn’t have a clue. Before I could return a third time to try to get it fixed the CPO expired and they refused to honor getting it fixed. I will never return to Napleton Porsche again because their service department is not only incompetent, but extremely expensive even for a Porsche dealer.

I hope you realize my frustration. After the second failure to fix the issue, I asked Mike what the plan was for a third visit. I just wanted to know that there was a plan. But he deferred. I did send an email that is copied below and got no response from Mike or Porsche NA. If you want to try again at no charge, I will let you give it another try. Otherwise, I will be getting my Boxster serviced in Tulsa. Mike, There may be nothing you can do about warranty coverage, but you can provide proper service to a customer. I’ve driven my car to Springfield twice for the same problem, which you have failed to repair. All I have to show for it is the removal of a tiny vinyl Hallett Motor Racing Circuit decal, which had no bearing on the problem as it was attached to a bumper of much thicker plastic and plastic is transparent to radar. That was just an indication you were grasping at straws on solving the problem. I asked repeatedly if there was a plan for my next visit since you had failed on the two prior attempts and it seems like you should have a plan for the third attempt. You did not respond until my CPO had expired An organization focused on service would have replied that you would certainly do everything in your power to repair the defect at no cost to me regardless of warranty status because of your two previous failed attempts. Since I have reason for little confidence in your ability to fix the problem, particularly if you are going to charge me, there appears to be no point in ever seeking service from you again. My solution will have to be a piece of electrical tape over the defective light and a blindspot mirror. Sincerely, Scott Cragin

I was treated with respect. I felt like I was among friends. A shuttle was provided so I could enjoy a burger for lunch at a nearby restaurant, while I waited for the service work to be completed. The waiting room was clean and the TV made my wait seem almost like nothing. I also had my questions answered clearly.

The service provided is always outstanding, and the customer interaction is exceptionally positive! The dealer service recommendations are followed consistently. The biodegradable windshield washer hose is vulnerable to being eaten by rodents. Rodent-proof hose should be used.

Dealership did not get back with me for three days because it was the weekend and by then someone else had purchased the vehicle I was looking at. I had sent him a message asking him some questions about the vehicle before I made a decision to go to the dealership which is two hours away but they did not get back with me in time. I hope the new owners are happy with it.
