Both Audi and Jeep are issuing recalls regarding similar failures of occupant detection systems to trigger airbags.

Approximately 144,100 Audi A4, A4 Allroad, S4, A5 and S5 vehicles are being recalled for their passenger occupant detection systems.
The Audi A4 sedan and A5 coupe will ditch their manual transmissions 
 after the 2018 model year, marking the last three-pedal transmissions 
 offered by the four-ringed brand.
Approximately 31,300 2017-18 Audi A4 sedans, A4 Allroad wagons, and 
 2018 A5 Sportback hatchbacks are being recalled.
Audi's redesigned A4 Allroad wagon and A5 coupe and four-door hatchback 
 have earned top scores in IIHS crashworthiness testing.
The A5 really needed this redesign, and its improvements in performance, 
 technology and luxury put it among the class leaders.
