There are lots of choices among the cheaper-to-buy-and-drive mid-size SUVs that, when properly configured, can safely tow at least 5,000 pounds.

When properly equipped, these 2023 SUVs offer excellent all-around capability with maximum tow ratings ranging from north of 8,000 pounds to 10,000 pounds.

A longer wheelbase and new powertrain give the 2023 Wagoneer L and Grand Wagoneer L more comfort, space and grunt, but we do miss the rumble of a Hemi V-8.
