To best evaluate whether the 2024 Kia EV9 three-row all-electric SUV can be a real-deal family hauler, we bought one for our editors to test with their different-sized families over the next year.

The Kia EV9 took home two World Car Awards, including the top prize — 2024 World Car of the Year. Electrified vehicles had wins in all of the six categories announced today at the 2024 New York International Auto Show.

Now through April 30, the automaker is offering a $5,000 cash discount on all EV9 purchases.

As usual with new EVs, some have rolled out for 2024 with limited initial availability or as fully loaded “first editions” with more affordable versions to come.

The 2024 Kia EV9, the world’s first semi-affordable three-row electric family SUV is big, bold and expensive — but excellent to drive and use.

There are many EVs on the market now that can handle light- or medium-weight trailers, and a handful of new electric light-duty pickup trucks can even go “tow-to-tow” with their gasoline counterparts.

The 2024 Kia EV9 electric mid-size SUV will have up to an EPA-estimated 304 miles of driving range when it arrives late in 2023, according to the automaker.

In total, the 2024 EV9 will be available in four trims and have a choice of rear- or all-wheel drive, two battery pack sizes, and anywhere from 201 to 379 horsepower depending on the powertrain.
