Improperly deploying front-passenger airbags affect more than 12,700 R1S and R1T vehicles.
EV startup Rivian is recalling more than 12,000 of its vehicles, the majority of the vehicles it’s produced, over a loose steering knuckle fastener.
Rivian has dropped the base Explore model for its R1T pickup truck and R1S SUV — including for existing preorders — which leaves only the top Adventure Package.
The new base price for the R1T electric pickup truck is $79,500, up from $67,500. Meanwhile, the R1S SUV’s price jumps to $84,500, up from $70,000.
The overall pace of these reveals is on par with 2021 introductions, though 2022 also features an acceleration of new electrified SUVs.
Here are the new EVs going on sale for the 2022 model year. There may be some slippage in terms of availability, with some models even falling back to the 2023 model year if timing backs up.
