The all-electric 2022-23 Rivian R1T pickup has earned a Top Safety Pick Plus award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety due to its headlights and a strong safety structure.

EV startup Rivian is recalling more than 12,000 of its vehicles, the majority of the vehicles it’s produced, over a loose steering knuckle fastener.

Rivian has dropped the base Explore model for its R1T pickup truck and R1S SUV — including for existing preorders — which leaves only the top Adventure Package.

After a quick spin in Rivian’s 2022 R1T electric pickup truck, it was clear that the R1T is not only real, but really compelling.
