For 2019, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is moving from a 
 focus on the people inside the vehicle to those outside by testing 
 pedestrian detection systems. Here are the first results.

Approximately 6,200 model-year 2018 Mercedes-Benz, Mercedes-AMG and 
 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class cars are being recalled for their hands-off 
 detection systems.

Approximately 700 model-year 2019 Mercedes-Benz C300 sedans, coupes 
 and convertibles, and model-year 2019 Mercedes-AMG C43 sedans, coupes 
 and cabriolets are being recalled.

 are being recalled.
