Two new models on sale this year are bucking the trend of subcompact 
 SUVs that lack stature, room and practicality: the 2018 Nissan Kicks and 
 2019 Volvo XC40.

My first impression of the new 2018 X2 was lukewarm, but driving one on 
 the street and the track has flipped the script with its handling and 
 composure making it a standout in this class.
