2018 Subaru Outback consumer reviews

This vehicle is roomy, comfortable, has decent performance and loaded with extras. The Subaru reliability is one of the many reasons we bought it. We will likely keep this car forever.

I will not be buying another Subaru. This is my 2nd one. I love it, but for safety it will end up killing me. My Outback has left me on the side of the road more times than it should. I have had problems with computer system, fuel system, crash system, and now the transmission went out. 2 of those, including transmission happened on the interstate, and did not give any warning. Both times I was more than 2.5 hours from home, and have to leave it in a random Subaru lot in the middle of the night, and be without a car for weeks. When I am paying on a newer vehicle that I purchased brand new I expect it to function properly. This has functioned worse than my Ford I owned back 7 years ago.

Car is reliable, comfortable, great for my labs and good mileage. Great leg room and great in the snow. Car looks great and all the gadgets makes it a luxury car without spending big dollars.

I'm a little bias when it comes to this vehicle, I love Subaru. Regardless, its met or exceeded my expectations. The cabin is quite, comfortable, and has soft surfaces (no cheap plastics). Its engine isn't super powerful, but the transmission and paddle shifters make up for it. Its CVT transmission is super smooth and takes hills well. Its range is good, too. I can just barely go 400 miles on a tank with mixed driving. I havent gone on a road trip yet, but I'm confident I can go 500-550 miles on a tank. Outward visibility is amazing. The bluetooth connectivity is darn near instantaneous. The turning radius is amazing, so parking is a breeze. The infotainment is a little limited, but not enough to be disappointed about. The head and leg space is generous, even with a lot of trunk space. I can easily have two car seats either front face or back with room in between and up front.

We were a SAAB family for many years and have now moved on to Subaru. Always heard great things about the Outback so I test drove one and bought a 2018. Technology and safety features are incredible, especially the adaptive cruise control which works amazingly. The Apple Play system is great and allows you to talk and text while keeping your eyes on the road. You can use Waze and Apple Maps too. The 2.5 could use a bit more punch but all in all this is a great car and I couldn't be happier!

this car is the perfect size for our family it gets super gas mileage the engine performance is super the interior space is superior turning sterring is super the allwheel drive is the best this beast goes through the snow ice like melted butter none better we totally love this car

Car feels really solid and durable. Comfortable to drive with many safety features. Hope to have it for a long time. Expensive but hopefully it will last and pay for itself over time.

The car has everything I wanted, plus more. From my previous outback experience, I knew I could depend on its performance and reliability. Best vehicle I ever bought.

Bought this for my daughter who goes to school in New Orleans!! drove it 2400 miles from San Jose and it was a fun ride! Great handling, extremely comfortable (except for those darned head rests). Don't try and set the clock to sync with the phone via bluetooth. doesn't work. But a truly great car!

I needed a car to transport my elderly mother. The Outback is perfect for my driving style and needs. It's very comfortable and gets pretty good millage.
