  • A modest car that offers good value

This is a fuel efficient and modest car. It achieves 98hp has a 9 gallon tank and an automatic transmission. The LS has crank windows and old fashioned key-lock doors. You can haul a reasonable load in the back seat and hatch or even three other people, though it might be somewhat cramped. It appears to be designed for urban commuters, but I've driven it some decent distances and in all seasons now and it seems to up the challenge of all weather and (paved) terrains. The onboard technology (radio, backup camera, and internet connectivity--with Apple Play and Android Auto) is surprisingly good. Its small size makes it fit easily into small spaces. It was discontinued in 2022, so there should be parts for awhile and prices are coming down. If you need a second car, give this one some consideration.

  • Great little car!!

Great little car, a lot of power for the size, very roomy, best gas mileage ive ever had. like 40mpg combined. I recommend this car for someone who does not want to pay a fortune in gas, and wants reliability etc.

  • Inexpensive Transportation That Beats a Bike LOL

Bought a 2017 Spark to be a tow car for our RV. At 2200lb, the car is lightweight, and it hardly ever feels like we're towing anything at all even in the mountains. While it is not an off-road vehicle, it is still great for "extra vehicular" transportation once we're at a campsite. Almost 40MPG (39.6) means fewer trips for gas. It would be cramped for four people, but it holds two people just fine in front. When being towed, and with the back seats stowed, the car has room for lots of gear - a benefit of being such a lightweight car is that we can offload the heavier gear to the Spark. Its small size means it's easy to maneuver and park. Many time we've been able to park in spaces that a bigger car would not have fit into. Apple Car Play makes things nice for longer rides.

  • Great deal for my first car!!

The car meets my needs. It drives super smooth. My favorite aspects of the car is the rear view camera, and the fact that it has Bluetooth.

  • Fun and Reliable

The car has been funner to drive than I expected, maybe because it is a manual. I am getting 44.4 MPG about 70% of which is Highway. I am approaching 100K miles and am about to change the radiator hoses and the plastic connections for them (not just Chevy, many engines have these now, and when they fail, they disintegrate and send plastic pieces all over, so this is just a precaution). I have not needed any repairs done so far. It is more comfortable that I expected, but I am 5'9 and I do not think people much larger would fit in it.

  • Not sure about the CVT/highway driving

I was really considering a used spark because I think they are cute and a great price. Once I went on the highway though I just was not sure about the driving. It feels really small and the engine sounded and felt weird to me. Not sure if it is the CVT or what. It is probably an ok car but just wasn’t for me.

  • Great Gas Mileage but Very Small Car

The car reliably got me from A to B and the back up camera helped me fit in nearly all parking spaces. It was easy to drive and pretty comfortable for its size, but one can only fit so much in such a small space. Great gas mileage for people who drive alot.

  • Get a Used LT or higher!

I own a Toasted Marshmallow (metallic tan) 2017 Chevrolet Spark 1LT with the 5 speed Manual Transmission I was forced into this car due to the unreliable MINI Cooper I was driving at the time. I’m 6 months into ownership of this little thing and I can honestly say I’m very impressed. I’m not going to waste time on gas mileage since the whole subcompact segment is good in that regard but my avg consumption is 40mpg, and I’ve yet to cross the $20 mark when filling up here in Texas. Yes, that’s a full tank. The touch screen has apple CarPlay and android auto, the back up camera works great, it has steering wheel controls and the 5 speed manual in mine is actually pretty nice to use. The seats are super comfortable but the ride is so quiet (no seriously... makes my MINI seem like the loudest thing ever) and so so forgiving. The handling is good, not great but responsive and easy while it fails in the power department. If this car was a little quicker it would be a perfect car! However with the Manual Transmission it’s as easy as shifting later and I’m sure the CVT is set up in a way to act similarly. I’ll be keeping this car until it dies, and honestly with how cheap parts are... it probably never will.
