Wish I still had it
I sadly just traded my PT Cruiser convertible for an SUV but that is another story. Had the base model convertible. For the money you can't find a car that is more fun. Wind noise with the top down is moderate. It is surprisingly quiet with the top up. Not a lot of storage space in the trunk but it is amazing what you can haul in the back seat with the top down. The base motor is more than enough to bark the tires and handling in the twisties is surpisingly good. I had no mechanical issues the 2 years that I owned it. Only complaint, Since the convertible is lowered and chopped compared to the standard PT, taller drivers may have to bend down a little to see stop lights when the top is up. When the top is down you just look over the top of the windshield. also since it is lowered the turning radius is wide. for the fun factor it can't be beat.

Love it!
I just bought this car yesterday but I'm already in love with it. It's no race car (that wastes gas anyways) but it snowed heavily this morning and it didnt slide at all. Best car I've ever owned!

My first PT
I just bought my first PT Cruiser, a 2006 model. I knew it was the car for me when, during my test drive, the salesperson turned to me and said, "You're driving this car as if you've owned one before". I felt comfortable right away. I'm loving everything about it, but I will say that there is one thing that I'm not thrilled about, and that is it's performance. But, I've never been a speed demon, so I'm living with it.

2006 Pt Cruiser GT 4 door Manual.
Excellent Car with great Performance. Never had a single mechanical problem, very easy to drive, everything very accessible, very powerful ventilation system, excellent reliability, front passengers seats very comfortable. If the schedule maintenance is followed, the car will last forever. MINOR Complains Would not recommend this car for more than two passengers. While the convertible has two "front seats on the back", the 4 door back seats are not very comfortable, they are more like a bench so the seats can be folded. First gear a little short for my taste if aggressively driving, once in second gear the car is gone. If driving normally it is perfect. It had a small software problem with the engine service light, but the dealership solved it.

Great Value!
Great Interior styling and storage space. A 60/40 freeway driver and am averaging 24 mpg... Great head room. Only cons...a little more acceleration on the highway would be nice...

Great Car
I bought the car used with 10,000 miles on it. Highway mileage is around 28mpg. Rides and handles nice. Love the dash board. Had a few problems with the toys that came with the car until I read the owners manual. It is pretty snappy with the manual transmission, tried an auto - forget it. Only thing that bothers me is the brake dust on the wheels, I hose them off every other day.

Outstanding Value
Have owned two Mercedes and this Cruiser is definitely a better value. Comfortable, handles well, very versatile interior, and rock solid reliable. Look forward to owning the diesel version with better mileage.

Inspiration definately does come standard!
nice try chevy but the HHR dosent come close to a pt cruiser! I bought mine with 40,000 miles and have put 50,000 miles on it already. I havnt had one thing wrong with it except fighting with my wife to take it to work. She bought a new Chevy HHR 2 years ago and has been in for service twice and cosmetic work once because the window stoped working. We find its much better looking also. Thanks chrysler!we're fans for life!

2006 P T Cruiser Basic
O.k first of all I wish I bought the GT or limited only because it has more features I could have used. My basic model does have power windows/ locks CD Player and outside tempeture gauge, which in a basic model you don't expect to get. It took me awhile to get use to because I was so use to driveing luxury sedans for the past 5 years (Buick Lesabre and Mercury Grand Marque)that after about a week it was so much fun to drive I found excuses just to go somewhere. I bought this model to save on gas verses my Mercury. And Yes I see a huge differance. First of all I need to say I read reviews before I bought this car and saw a few comments on poor gas mileage this thing gets. From my point of view its all in how you drive your car!!!! Even with gas at almost $3.00 a gal people are still driving crazy. As far as the handling its very smooth very comfy turns a little stiff for me but not a problem. The only complaint I have is lack of storage in the back. There's one small cubby hole that you can but stuff but thats it. I do love this car so far. . For the price its wonderful and the features on the 06 model differ from the later years but my opion I like the change. The air vents you can totally turn and rotate to howerver you want and the chrome look is fresh and clean. My husband and friend talked me into buying this car and I have to say they were right. I'm glad I did. My husband wants to get one in the future also so we will both have one. There's one last thing I will point out and that is why in the heck is this classified as a van? It feels more like a small SUV.
