Pretty great vehicle
Own one of these and it never fails to start and reliably get me to place to place. Almost 200k and no sign of stopping. Also had a Toyota highlander that was a piece of junk compared to this thing. At least the Ford never had an engine light or didn't start.

If it wasn’t for the rust...
I bought the four-cylinder, five speed manual brand new in 2002. I had it for 17 years and 207,000 miles. Never had to replace anything major in it, just pretty much basic maintenance. If it hadn’t been for the typical Ford rusting of the body and underneath, I would’ve kept it for many more years.

Worst vehicle I ever owned.
I had a 2002 Firs Escape that I bought new. It has 7 miles on the odometer. The steering rack failed 4 times before it reached 37,000 miles. Wheels and suspension parts all failed. The engine and transmission hated each other. The brakes would freeze in the winter. I had $20,000 in warranty repairs before the car got out of warranty. Then I had to start paying for everything. Once I was right side up on the loan, I traded it in and ran like xxxx. Mechanically it was the worst vehicle I ever owned.

Still Hanging Strong at 17yrs old.
My regular maintenance & upkeep is paying off. At 6 feet and curvey, with either a fury friend or 1-2 passengers in tow, this car was and remains to be the perfect fit. Maintenance mostly done at dealership’s quick stop, although more for labor than regular Joe Blow, I always feel confident that I ‘ll be done right the first time. Only considering a new car to accommodate lifestyle changes during retirement ...

Most reliable car I've ever owned
I need this car brand new since 2002 still currently driving it. Only problems other than general breakdown of machinery like alternator starter battery batteries new brakes etc was a computer chip that malfunctioned. I would say 2002 to now with a hundred and eighty thousand miles on it that's phenomenal. Still have the air conditioner blowing cold great car

I love this Car!
I love my Ford Escape! It meets all of mine & my families needs, plus more! It's the most perfect sized SUV with 4WD and with that being said, I can't complain about the gas mileage either!

I Love It
Absolutely would recommend, there's nothing I would complain about as the vehicle is more than adequate in every major category. I was skeptical at first but now after a few months of ownership i would take a bullet for my 2002 escape.
