This candy apple red 3.5L V6 Taurus accelerates and decelerates with extreme smoothness with an exceptional suspension that absorbs road shock like Santa's sleigh. The interior comforts of baige leather heated seats and leather stearing wheel can be adjusted to meet your every curve. The dash and console reminds you of a fighter jet cockpit that can be configured to provide you with your desired feedback. The sound system has all the bells and whistles of a luxury sedan and eight speakers throughout. All-in-all an acceptional American value with European feel and design. My mind has been changed by this American value.

This car is incredibly reliable! I have owned this vehicle 14 months, and driven 34,000 miles, without a single incident. The right front wheel bearing did have to be replaced (defective) but not one single failure of any other component or system. 29 MPG on highway, and very quiet and comfortable. That is as long as you are a front seat passenger. They let the adolescents loose in the design department on this iteration, and in the process of making it look like a Hot Wheels imitation they sacrificed any real back seat room on the altar of zoom zoom. This car weighs nearly two tons, and has a wheelbase rivaling that of full bore luxury cars. Why the subcompact back seat accomodations? Terrible! Another problem with the juvenile design is the "gun turret" effect from the chopped roof and raised beltline. Visibility to the rear on this thing is non-existent. Always be speeding up when changing lanes, or you will be cutting people off ALL the time. You simply cannot see out the rear, and side vision is horribly compromised. OK, enough griping (hopefully Ford will fix this stuff in the next model). The car drives fantastic! Great engine with good response and torque through a wide range of engine speeds, and a well matched transmission to make the most of it. Truly a pleasure to travel in on long trips (front seat only again).

I recently purchased a used 2010 silver 2010 Ford Taurus SEL with about 11,000 miles on it. I have put about 2,000 miles on it in my first six weeks of ownership. The only issue I have had with the car was one instance of the spedometer sticking at 70 mph when i was going under 20 mph. I parked, turned the car off and back on with no issues since, and I do keep an eye on it constantly to see if I need to contact the dealership. My SEL has leather, the Sony sound system, 19" wheels, and looks great. I have received many compliments on the looks of the car from friends and family. My parents are going to purchase a new 2012 Taurus in the next few months after driving mine. The car is quiet, and fun to drive. You may have to play with the seat for a while to get it in the right position so the head rest doesn't bother you. I am 6'2", and have pleanty of leg room in it. My wife made the comment that she feels like she is in an airplane cockpit when she drives it. I agree. The center console is a bit high, but doesn't bother me. The Sony stereo is worth the extra money. As is the leather seats. They look great with the white stitching against the black leather. I have 3 car seats in the back, and it is tight, buy the kids make it work ok. I will probably drive this for 5-6 years, and look for another Ford product. I previously had a Chrysler 300. The Taurus is a much superior car.

If you haven't driven a Taurus lately and you're looking for a mid-sized, affordable, quiet, comfortable family sedan with tons of technology, you owe it to yourself to test drive a Ford Taurus. This car is very quiet, the amenities are plentiful, the interior styling is very cool and not at all cheap looking or feeling. The trunk is HUGE! The onboard computer, the satellite radio, the reverse gear warning system, ABS, traction control, Microsoft SYNC, its all very very cool. Try to get a car with all this and a 263 HP engine in a Japanese model and pay thousands of dollars more. Of course, those would hold resale better, but this is a terrific value. Its huge, too, so if youre like me and safety is an issue, this is a good choice. Also, mileage is not bad. A very reliable and steady 17 in the city, and, from what I can tell, about 25-26 on the hwy. I would definitely recommend this car to friends and family.

Good car overall. Getting about 23 mph mix hwy and city. Biggest problem is chrome peeling around tailights. Ford will replace if under warranty but are replacing with same faulty tailights. Will not replace once out of warranty. Every 2010 Taurus I have looked at has the same exact problem. Really detracts from an otherwise nice car. What a shame Ford replaces one faulty part with the same.

I've owned a 10 sel for 3 years and absolutely love it. The reasons are: awesome good looks. (black), very effecient. 28 highway and over 30 on the open road. Front wheel drive offers winter traction. It is surprisingly quick. A quite highway ride. The suspension seems a little taught but handles very well. I'm 6'6" and have plenty of room. The trunk lid supports gave out prematurely and I replaced them myself for not too much. Overall I and my wife are very happy with it.

Let me start off by saying that when I plan on making a purchase I do my homework. That was the case with the first Taurus I bought. It was a 2008. I seriously looked up everything I could about different vehicles, and the 08 Taurus just seemed to be the perfect car. I do not yet have a family but when I went and test drove the car I fell in love with the sheer beef and interior space. Unfortunately though I was in an accident and the 08 got totalled. It saved my skin though! The car took a beating but all the airbags and everything worked great and I walked away with liitle more than a hurt neck. So, since I loved the 08 so much, I decided to try my luck with a newer Taurus. It's got the same engine (except the SHO, this was an SEL), transmission, frame, and safety features, so really the big difference is just the styling of the car. It costed a little more than I wanted to pay, but just for kicks and giggles I took one for a spin. OH BOY. I really liked it even more than the 08. It was buttery smooth, quiet, and has decent power for such a heavy car (just over 4000 lbs.). The paddle shifters were a fun addition too! Anyways, long story short I left the dealer because it was too expensive, but ended up going back and giving in after a couple days because nothing else that I test drove was as nice for the money. I do not regret my purchase one bit. I drive a healthy amount and the car has never let me down! It already has a whopping 114000 miles on it, and it still runs like new, just as buttery as the day I bought it. I've kept up with maintenence of course with spark plugs and transmission flush and things like that, but other than that I haven't had to do any repairs. And the way the car feels when I drive it I likely won't need to for a looooong time. It's got some cool features, too! The voice recognition works pretty well, and I can even do things like say, "Vehicle health report", and the car will take information about all of the car's vital stats and send them in a report to my e-mail! Pretty cool, huh? I love the SYNC, and the interior styling is way ahead of its time! It looks better inside than most brand new cars. I still get compliments on its looks both in and out, and the car is 5 years old. I have been very impressed with the vehicle and Ford's newest lineup. They are making me a Ford guy, which is nice because I sure do like to support domestic products. I also would be remiss if I didn't credit my local Ford dealership too. They have been amazing to work with, which surprises me. Very good prices on repairs and sometimes they'll even top off the fluids and rotate the tires for free and throw in a car wash to top it off. I know dealerships vary, but I have been very pleased with this one. Like I said, the whole experience has just brought a smile to my face.
