The recalled vehicles are electric-powered pickup trucks. If the transaxle attaching bolts begin to loosen, the driver could notice a jerking motion and/or a clunking sound. If not serviced promptly, all nine bolts could ultimately fall out or fracture, and the transaxle could drop. If the transaxle drops, the vehicle may no longer be in the gear indicated. If this occurs, the shift lever could be put into APark@ and the vehicle would still be free to roll as if in ANeutral.
Dealers will replace the mounting bolts with longer bolts that include a thread lock material. When installed, the new bolts will be tightened to a higher torque. The manufacturer has reported that owner notification was to begin on March 20, 2001. Owners who do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact Ford at 1-800-392-3673.

On certain minivans, the brake fluid master cylinder is recessed and oriented in the engine compartment so that the brake fluid warning statement embossed on both the top of the filler cap and the side of the reservoir body are not entirely visible by direct view. These vehicles may not fully comply with requirements of FMVSS No. 135, "Passenger Car Brake Systems".
Owners will be provided with new labels and installation instructions. Owner notification was to begin in July 1999. Owners who do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact Ford at 1-800-392-3673.

On certain passenger and sport utility vehicles, due to the use of incorrect material by a supplier, the headlamp switch knob can fracture and separate from the headlamp switch. This would cause difficulty for the driver to activate the headlamps, which could affect driver visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Certain bi-fuel CNG pickup trucks and vans, modified by CFI Control Systems, Inc., fail to conform to the requirements of FMVSS No. 303, "Fuel System Integrity of Compressed Natural Gas Vehicles." The label affixed to the fuel filler door by the vehicle modifier contains the inspection date and expiration date of the CNG tank. However, it does not contain the statement "See instructions on the fuel container for inspection and service life."
Owners will be provided a label with the required statement, along with instructions for affixing the label at the fuel filler door. The manufacturer has reported that owner notification began Oct. 23, 2000. Owners who do not receive the free label and instructions within a reasonable time should contact Ford at 1-800-392-3673.

On certain passenger vehicles equipped with adjustable pedals, if the grease from the adjustable pedal assembly enters the stop lamp switch, it can contaminate the contacts leading to carbon build up, and potentially, a short circuit. A short circuit could lead to either the brake lamps staying on or to a loss of brake lamp function, increasing the risk of a crash.

ON CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, THE TIRES ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE MAY HAVE BEEN DAMAGED AT THE CENTER TREAD DURING PRODUCTION.
OVER TIME, THE DAMAGE MAY BE SUFFICIENT TO ALLOW BELT CORROSION ULTIMATELY LEADING TO A TREAD SEPARATION, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.
DEALERS WILL HAVE ALL FOUR TIRES INSPECTED (TO ENSURE INSPECTION OF THE LEFT HAND SIDE TIRES THAT MAY HAVE BEEN ROTATED TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE) FOR TIRE TREAD DAMAGE AND, IF NECESSARY, REPLACE THE DAMAGED TIRE. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2020-2027 Aviator and 2020-2026 Explorer vehicles. The switch for the easy-entry second-row outer seats may bind or stick, resulting in the seats unlatching, tipping, or sliding unexpectedly.
A seat that moves unexpectedly may not properly restrain an occupant during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Dealers will inspect and replace the bezel around the switch as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters explaining the safety risk are expected to be mailed July 27, 2026. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2024-2026 Mustang and 2025-2026 Mustang GTD vehicles. During certain cold temperature conditions, the windshield wipers may function only at their high-speed setting and the washing system may fail to function properly.
Windshield wipers or a washing system that fails to function as intended can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Dealers will inspect and replace the wiper motor as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, are expected to be mailed July 8, 2026. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2024-2027 Lincoln Nautilus Hybrid and 2025-2027 Explorer Hybrid vehicles. A software error may prevent the vehicle from making the pedestrian warning sound at certain speeds.
A vehicle that does not produce a warning sound may fail to alert pedestrians of an approaching vehicle, increasing the risk of injury.
Note: This is an expansion of Recall 25V691. Any vehicles previously repaired under 25V691 must have the new remedy completed. Dealers will replace the digital signal processing module in Nautilus Hybrid vehicles equipped with 28 speakers, free of charge. The remedy is currently under development for all other Nautilus and Explorer Hybrid vehicles affected by this recall. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed August 03, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available. A detached fender flare can become a road hazard and increase the risk of a crash.
