Vehicle Overview

The five-seat LR2 is a compact luxury SUV, like the Acura RDX and BMW X3. It provides a less expensive alternative to Land Rover’s other pricier offerings.

The LR2 is powered by a 230-horsepower inline-six-cylinder engine. Off-road ability gets a boost thanks to permanent four-wheel drive that can distribute nearly all engine power to the front or rear wheels.

New for 2012
There are no significant changes for 2012.

Exterior
From the adjoined headlights to the squared-off rear, the LR2 looks like a shrunken Range Rover. With 8.3 inches of ground clearance and a 31-degree approach angle, the LR2 is more off-road-capable than the RDX and X3. Exterior features include:

  • Two-piece panoramic moonroof
  • Optional 19-inch wheels

Interior
Last year, the LR2 gained a redesigned instrument cluster. Two rows of seats accommodate five occupants. Interior features include:

  • Standard dual-zone automatic climate control
  • Standard leather upholstery
  • Standard power front seats

Under the Hood
The LR2’s 3.2-liter inline-six-cylinder generates 230 hp and 234 pounds-feet of torque. Mechanical features include:

  • Six-speed automatic transmission
  • Four-wheel drive
  • Towing capacity of 3,500 pounds when properly equipped

Safety
Safety features include:

  • Standard four-wheel-disc antilock brakes
  • Standard side-impact airbags for the front seats, side curtain airbags and driver’s knee airbag
  • Standard electronic stability system with Roll Stability Control

  • Great SUV

I've owned all the best cars, Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, etc. I am really enjoying this SUV, it's very well built and smooth on the road. You can get one used for a very reasonable price.

  • LR2 2012 3.2l air aspirated

There is little gadgetary here - it's all about the vehicle and the ride. Terrain response is great under all conditions given the narrower body, weight to power ratio and single mould body (No body on frame here). To enhance a very capable 3.2L of this caliber simply add a performance exhaust, best quality air filter, change the battery, belts and spark plugs and LED bulbs, change up the oil / oilfilter and add premium gas and your off. Prince Philip (UK) has several still today and he was a petrol head in his day (pilot) not to mention all his great quotes. Cheap to buy, safe as a brick and run a good 200,000 miles - easy to fix.

  • It’s a decent car

I downsize from a Volkswagen with all the bells and whistle‘s to a newer vehicle in a 2012 land rover but I have to admit I miss some of my perks that I’ve had before just have to get used to this vehicle

  • new catalytic converter at 100K miles!

We have had this car for 3 years. We have loved it, loved the comfort, style and sound of the suv. Then It hit 100k Miles and now needs a catalytic converter and new sensors...... very disappointed in reliability. I have another other luxury brand car that is lasting over 100K miles with no issues.

  • Solid SUV with practical features

We bought our 2012 LR2 with 64k miles. Now has 100k and has been very reliable. Built very solid. Good all weather car with excellent pep and a touch of high-end features. Our college kids all want it for themselves.

  • Best of the best

This LR2 HSE has everything whether you off-road, or commute. From the snow white exterior and it?s extras to the luxurious black leather interior. You can keep your bum warm in the winter with the heated front seats and chill out in the hot Arizona summer with the A/C dual climate controls. All while listening to the seven speaker sound system. It also has Sirius satellite radio and Bluetooth for your phone. It?s hassle free maintenance with the annual oil change and systems check. The stability control keeps you safe on the road and handles with ease. You?ll experience pride of ownership with this beauty.

  • The Perfect Land Rover LR2

I thought I would never own a white vehicle, but boy was I wrong. I saw this LR2 HSE and instantly fell in love with it. Then I took it for the test drive and couldn't believe how comfortable it is and how it handled, more like a car than an SUV. The size is perfect, not too big and not to small. The A/C is cold before you have your sunglasses on and in Arizona that's extremely important. The Sound System is fabulous! I would sit in it to listen to new music just for the pure enjoyment of it. The Bluetooth was an "I wish I had" feature. I connected my phone to it and the first time it rang, I nearly jumped out of my seat. It's actually clearer than my cell. I love driving it on the streets or highways, my short description of how it handles would be to say, "It turns on a dime and leaves you nine cents change" when it takes a corner. I have not seen another 2012 LR2 as nice as this one and with the extra exterior options. Everything about this Land Rover is class and the price is affordable and spot on.
