1999 Lexus GS 400 consumer reviews

I owned a 1996 Camry LE 4 cyl. and I always loved the way the car felt. It was like it was tailored especially for me. The interior of the GS400 feels exactly the same but with rear wheel drive and twice the power it out performs my Jaguar XK8. The ride, handling and power make my 30 mile commute seem way too short. The car had 156,000 when I bought it but was owned by snowbirds so it was never exposed to snow or salt. It still looks and drives like new. The styling is contemporary enough that it still looks like a newer car. There aren't very many of them on the road so people are amazed when I tell them it's a 20-year old car. Even at 150k+ miles, I wouldn't hesitate to take a cross country trip, it runs that good.

Very low matenance. 276,000+miles. With Lucas Oil Additive, plan to drive it till I die. Only 84. Brother tested the Lucas product for International Truck Division. With it, I dove a used 1957 Chrysler to 417,000+ miles.

This car is going on 19 years and out performs the other luxury cars I?ve owned relevant to it?s class (BMW, Audi) that were several years newer!

Amazing car, if your looking for a reliable, comfortable, and sporty car, look no further. Lexus has always branched all types of driving prefereces, and they did it again with the GS. With a powerfull V8 up front you wont be wanting for power, but the Lexus badge still stand for reliability when the going gets tough.

One owner car that is brilliant. Runs and looks just like new. Everything that needs maintenance has been replaced or is new. Lexus makes a great car and this is one of them.

Purchased used, drives like a dream. For the price, it doesn't get any better. 300 horsepower in a 1999 car. It has enough power to have fun while still being comfortable in. These engines are bullet proof and will run forever with simple maintenance.

My almost 17yr old Lexus GS 400 still runs like new, with close to 215,000 miles. I'm sure the 1UZ-FE V8 engine is in a museum somewhere, because this thing is rock solid. You want to dependable? I've replaced the motor mounts and ball joints, because rubber wears out before this engine quits!! Besides tires, brakes, and oil changes this car is pretty much problem free. If you do research you'll see that these engines go 300/ 400/500,000 miles and more. I'm convinced most people get rid of them because they want something new - not because of problems. Even if I get another vehicle, this one is not for sale. Maybe I'll think about another Lexus around 300,000 miles...but this one I will keep forever.

good all round for the money. Still will get you compliments.. Was fastest production car of the year in 1998 and still sips gas for being a v8. So far ahead of its time.

By far, the best car for the money. No reason for me to ever buy anything to replace it. Everytime I drive soemthing new, I feel like "My GS400 is better than this----even the newer Lexi
