Great car in mini SUV

I love this car and it meets my needs. Absolutely amazing on the dry or wet road. It has good space on the back seats and nice trunk space. Very stylish look. I have fun driving this car.

I love this car!

I bought the 2018 CX-5 GT (Soul Red Crystal Metallic color) in February, and it has been a long time since I've been so enthused about a new car! I debated about getting another Honda CRV, which on paper has more space and better fuel mileage, but that car is just xxxx ugly. The CX-5 has a classic elegant design, inside and out. The interior seems more like an Audi or Mercedes in terms of quality materials and finish. The more I drive it, the more I appreciate how well it handles... very responsive and solid handling, much better than my old CRV. It is also very quiet, and the 10-speaker Bose sound system is outstanding! The car is very high quality, with much attention to detail. The doors have a hefty solid feel, all windows are auto up/down with quick motors. The doors even wrap under the door sill, keeping dirt/water out of the part your leg might brush against. Even the power seat buttons have a classy layout. The screen being mounted on top of the dash is actually optimal for viewing. It's a beautiful high-res display. I particularly like that even when you aren't navigating, the top of the screen always shows the name of the next cross street you are approaching. Likewise the right-hand circular display in the dash is also a high-res screen, very well designed for showing analog "gauges" for fuel and temp. I also like the choice of a "rumble strip" sound for warning when crossing the lane lines. This car is really fun to drive, and I have to admit that even being middle-aged, when walking away after parking it, I still turn around to check out how nice it looks! The metallic red paint is stunning in sunlight. I have only two minor complaints: the blind spot monitor is too sensitive, warning you of a car in the blind spot when it is actually 4 car lengths behind you and clearly visible in the rear-view mirror. The driver's seat is comfortable, but the seat is a bit too short for optimal thigh support (I'm 5'10"). I almost resisted buying the car since Mazda still didn't add Apple CarPlay for 2018. Though I've found the GT's infotainment options aren't too bad... you actually can browse the music library on iPhone. But CarPlay is a must-have, and Mazda is adding it for 2019 models. Presumably there will be a hardware/software upgrade to add it to existing cars that have Mazda Connect. You have to test drive this car to appreciate how nice it is compared to other models in this class.

A pleasure to drive

This car meets and exceeds all of my expectations. It is stylish, very comfortable, and a pleasure to drive. It has excellent features normally found in far more expensive vehicles.

I LOVE my new Mazda CX5!!

I love my Mazda CX5 SUV. This is the second Mazda I've owned, but my first SUV. It is comfortable, roomy (front and back). The style is beautiful. I got the red and it is the prettiest red color I've seen on a car yet. The drive is smooth and not too noisy. And did I mention that I LOVE it?! Highly recommended! Get the red! ?

Great Handling SUV

Mazda seems to have created a real winner with the 2018 CX-5. Handling is very precise, almost feels like the great BMW 3 series of the 80's and 90's. Low end power could be better, but fine for our normal driving. We have the Grand Touring model and it has virtually every conceivable option that you would expect on a vehicle costing $25,000 more. Beautiful interior design; windshield projected display is a handy feature.

Nice ride, good upgrades

This is my 3rd Mazda cx5. I've had it for a few weeks. It has nice upgrades from the 2016. It's quieter and a little faster than the '16. I have the Grand Touring with the "Rover" package. The body is pearl white and the top is black. At a glance, it looks like a Range Rover. I would recommend this SUV.
