A sports car in a hatchback body

This car is fast and has great handling. It's very easy to get above the speed limit before you look at the speedometer. The interior is cool and modern. I have owned this car for five years with no major mechanical issues. The gas mileage is terrific. I love it and can't wait to purchase my next one.

Sporty money pit

It meets the basic needs of a daily driver for 1 person, but its loud, uncomfortable, slow, and every time you take it to the dealer for service its a minimum $500 for other repairs.

Absolutely LOVE it

Cute, fun to drive, and honestly way more practical thank you'd think for a subcompact. I have always owned a hatchback and this is my absolute favorite one. Plan to stay in the Mini family for a long time!

Great driving car

Surprisingly good amount of room inside. The ride and handling are great. Reasonable performance and good fuel economy with normally aspirated engine.

My 1st Mini

This is my 1st mini and its great. Good on gas mileage and great to handle. The only draw back is it is expensive to maintain and it needs premium gas.

The biggest little car we've ever owned.

The 2012 Mini Cooper is one of the biggest, yet smallest cars we've ever owned. For it's small size, it can carry four passengers, and as much as 8, to 10 bags of groceries, depending on the size of the purchases in question. The back seat passenger leg room is on the lower side, however. I'm 5 foot, 10 inches, and my legs seemed to be buried between the front seat, and back seat cushion. Head room is somewhat comfortable, as the seats are lowered inside the cabin. In terms of interior design, it's very unique. You would rarely, if at all, see a large speedometer adorn the dashboard of any car. The dashboard itself seems to be rounder, which is better in a crash, should the airbag not be enough. Exterior seems to be plain, and may look unchanged from the previous generation of the Mini Cooper, other than some subtle "aerodynamic enhancements". Performance is above average for a smaller car, but nonetheless below, or average for "just any car". While fuel economy is decent, you'll find yourself being out-ran by larger, sedans and SUVs. Overall, the 2012 Mini Cooper would be a good commuter, but not at all recommended for long-distance road trips, even with fuel economy almost as decent as some hybrids.

great little car

It's a great looking car. The handling was surprisingly good, performance is reasonable for the base engine. Everything it's advertised to be.
